multiplying multidimensional arrays (was: Re: [R] Manipulation involving arrays)
I am moving this to r-devel. The problem and solution below posted on r-help could have been a bit slicker if %*% worked with multidimensional arrays multiplying them so that if the first arg is a multidimensional array it is mulitplied along the last dimension (and first dimension for the second arg). Then one could have written: Tbar <- tarray %*% t(wt) / rep(wti, each = 9) which is a bit

Manipulation involving arrays
Hi, I have the following piece of code that is part of a larger function. This piece is the most time consuming part of the function, and I would like to make this a bit more efficient. Could anyone suggest a way to do this faster? In particular, I would like to replace the nested "for" loop with a faster construct. I tried things like "kronecker" and "outer"

How to generate table output of t-test
Hi, Given test <- matrix(c(1, 1,2,2), 2,2) t <- apply(test, 1, t.test) How can I obtain a table of p-values, confidence interval etc, instead of [[1]] One Sample t-test data: newX[, i] t = 3, df = 1, p-value = 0.2048 alternative hypothesis: true mean is not equal to 0 95 percent confidence interval: -4.853102 7.853102 sample estimates: mean of x 1.5 [[2]]

Cross-validation error with tune and with rpart
Hello list, I'm trying to generate classifiers for a certain task using several methods, one of them being decision trees. The doubts come when I want to estimate the cross-validation error of the generated tree: tree <- rpart(y~., data=data.frame(xsel, y), cp=0.00001) ptree <- prune(tree, cp=tree$cptable[which.min(tree$cptable[,"xerror"]),"CP"]) ptree$cptable

DomU vs Dom0 performance.
Hi, I have been doing some diskIO bench-marking of dom0 and domU (HVM). I ran into an issue where domU performed better than dom0. So I ran few experiments to check if it is just diskIO performance. I have an archlinux (kernel 3.5.0) + xen 4.2.2) installed on a Intel Core i7 Q720 machine. I have also installed archlinux (kernel 3.5.0) in domU running on this machine. The domU runs with 8 vcpus.

Need help configuring TE100P and 3 X100Pclonewith MD3200 chipset
This is a system for our lab. I have no problem getting rid of X100P clones. But I am just curious why can they work. Even the drivers are not loading correctly. -----Original Message----- From: asterisk-users-bounces@lists.digium.com [mailto:asterisk-users-bounces@lists.digium.com] On Behalf Of Kerry Garrison Sent: Tuesday, May 02, 2006 10:51 AM To: 'Asterisk Users Mailing List -

ANCOVA
Dear R-help list, I am attempting to understand the proper formulation of ANCOVA's in R. I would like to test both parallelism and intercept equality for some data sets, so I have generated an artificial data set to ease my understanding. This is what I have done #Limits of random error added to vectors min <- -0.1 max <- 0.1 x <- c(c(1:10), c(1:10))+runif(20, min, max) x1 <-

Rails Site: VegasLists.com
Just wanted to drop a note about a new Rails site that we''re testing in the wild, http://www.vegaslists.com. The site allows users to create lists about anything Las Vegas related and then lets other users comment on those lists. It was a project that went from concept to completed in about 2 weeks, working on it after the ''real job'' for fun. It''s very simple

Thank you very much for your reply. Your code work well with this example. I modified a little to fit my real data, I got an error massage. Need help configuring TE100P and 3 X100P clone with MD3200 chipset
I can either get the TE100P working or the 3 X100P clones working, but never both. I have the TE100P connected to a channel bank, and X100P clones to lines from the phone company. This is my zaptel.conf span=1,1,0,d4,ami fxsks=1-24 loadzone=us fxols=25-27 loadzone=us I then do [root@asterix root]# modprobe zaptel [root@asterix root]# modprobe wcte11xp ZT_CHANCONFIG failed on channel

naming boxes in boxplot
Hi, this may be a too simple question, but I was not able to find how to do it. So when I boxplot two vectors, i.e. x<-rbind(1,2,3,4) y<-rbind(3,4,5,6) boxplot(x,y) , could somebody tell me how to name the two boxes as apple and banana? Thanks much, Haun __________________________________________________ -.-.-.-.-.-.-.-.-.-.-.-.-.-.-.-.-.-.-.-.-.-.-.-.-.-.-.-.-.-.-.-.-.-.-.-.-.-.-.-
