SAMBA 4.20 - function level upgrade
Thanks for getting back to me. Sadly I've not had the time today to attempt the reproduction. Can you, just to save me time, double-check if this happens on a server with the Samba 4.20 being a just from-our-tarball Samba and show the logs that gives? Asterisk - WiMax Island Use
Hello All, Please advise kindly about the following arrangement: I need to have Asterisk working with company's mobiles via company's WiMax mobile network. Both Asterisk and WiMax can work in an island mode (i.e. not necessarily connected, even preferably not connected to any other communication network like mobile operator, Intranet or Internet). The result desired should be

SAMBA AD VFS:Recycle bad permissions
I had similiar issue on samba 4.8 domain member (new files with wrong permissions), when I realised that You need to list all modules that You wish to use in "vfs objects" every time , there is no inheritance from global -> shares that is if You have e.g. [global] ... vfs object = acl_xattr .. [some share] ... vfs object = recycle .. On samba DC "acl_xattr" is

[SOLR] Where is solr-schema.xml?
Hello, running dovecot 2.3.2.1 on Arch Linux, and installed solr 7.4.0. According to the wiki, there should be doc/solr-schema.xml, but I cannot find it. Tried "whereis dovecot": dovecot: /usr/bin/dovecot /usr/lib/dovecot /etc/dovecot /usr/include/dovecot /usr/share/dovecot /usr/share/man/man1/dovecot.1.gz But I cannot find any xml files using find /usr/{lib,share}/dovecot -name

using weighted.mean with tapply()
I am trying to calculate the weighted mean for a of 10 deciles and I get an error: > decile <- tapply(X=mat$trt1m, INDEX=mat$Rank, FUN=weighted.mean, w=mat$mcap) Error in FUN(X[[1]], ...) : 'x' and 'w' must have the same length All three of my inputs have the same length, as shown below, and the weighted.mean calculation works by itself, just not in tapply() >

TINY fonts
Hello there, am I really the only one, who compiled wine20050211 source, run wineinstall script, changed [fonts] section in config to match my dirs (ttf, afm) on my Mandrake 10.1 system AND STILL HAVING ALMOST UNREADABLE FONTS in applications using standard windows fonts (not its own)? (I'm not using any M$ stuff, including fonts - just those in X windows (xfs running)). Nyyr

Samba auto start under red hat 7.2
Hi all, I've recently upgraded to red hat 7.2 and found that samba no longer starts up with the rest of the system. Thanks to another member on this list I know the command to start it manually is /etc/rc.d/init.d/smb start but where do I have to put this command to get it to run at startup with the rest of the services? Thanks

User names?
I rebuilt an RHL 7.2 and copied my Samba file(s) back over. Samba is running, and when prompted for my username/password by my Windoze machine it will only work with one username/password. It will not work with any others. What's causing my problem here? Don't shoot the messenger, Rick Reed rreed@budgetext.com

non-default GPO from computer part not loaded
Hey Hey Dancers, I have found that all my GPOs from User Configuration are working fine, gpresult shows me all policies loaded, but it shows me, that from Computer Configuration only default domain policy is loaded. And it is true, because If I create a new policy with Computer Confinguration settings, then it is not loaded but If put same settings to default policy, it is loaded fine. How

SAMBA 4.20 - function level upgrade
Tom??, Andrew, I just became aware of this thread and noticed that there's likely a problem in our SAMBA+ packages. Sorry that this has caused you such a hard time! Afair we have one or two minor modifications that ought to improve compatibility with Exchange schema extensions, but I don't remember the details. Once we've figured out what's wrong, we'll let you know. Due

tapply output as a dataframe
i use tapply and by often, but i always end up banging my head against the wall with the output. is there a simpler way to convert the output of the following tapply to a dataframe or matrix than what i have here: # setup data for tapply dt = data.frame(bucket=rep(1:4,25),val=rnorm(100)) fn = function(x) { ret = c(unname(quantile(x,probs=seq(.25,.75,.25),na.rm=T)),mean(x,na.rm=T)) } a =

SAMBA AD VFS:Recycle bad permissions
Hello dancers, I upgraded SAMBA to version 4.9 in three little companies. Then we have found an error with permissions, on shared discs where is VFS:recycle enabled, new created folders seem to be ok, but new files are writable only from owner. Getfacl gets back mask r-- so effective rights are changed. Shared discs without VFS:recycle work fine, and if I disable VFS:recycle on shared

tapply huge speed difference if X has names
Hi all, Apologies if this has been raised before ... R's tapply is very fast, but if X has names in this example, there seems to be a huge slow down: under 1 second compared to 151 seconds. The following timings are repeatable and are timed properly on a single user machine : > X = 1:100000 > names(X) = X > system.time(fast<<-tapply(as.vector(X), rep(1:10000,each=10), mean))

Excluding rows from a matrix
Hi I have a matrix (4 x 950) and I want to remove 3 rows, where the values from the first column are 713, 714 and 715. I can select the rows, one by one, with mat[mat$first==713,] mat[mat$first==714,] ... but I'm unable to (i) select the 3 rows at once, (ii) select the matrix excluding those rows. How can I do it ? Thanks EJ
