similar to: anybody using R with TextPad?

I have installed textpad and tried running R code. But it gives me the following error message. The filename, directory name, or volume label syntax is incorrect. Dear All, I am trying to fiugre out how install packages on the base system. The "FAQ" tells me that more details can be obtained by typing "help(install.packages)", but my R system gives me an error message when I did that. I also tried "help(PACKAGES)", "help(install.packages())", but none worked. Anybody can help? I am running R 1.1.1 on WinNT 4.

Hi , I am programming on a windows system and have problems using notepad which is my main editor.Each time I try to open the editor from the R IDE, R crashes. So I always have to copy my codes from notepad and paste in R to run them.
