R and Browninan Motion/ Langevin Equation package
Hi, I'm writing a short course tutorial to Browninan Motion/ Langevin Equation. At the end of the theory section I wanted to add a short GNU R example, so the students can play a little around. I already looked in the MASS book (by Venables and Ripley) but I couldn't find any Brownian Motion/ Langevin Equation package. Are there any good packages or tutorials available which cover R and

simulating from Langevin distributions
Dear all, I have been looking for a while for ways to simulate from Langevin distributions and I thought I would ask here. I am ok with finding an algorithmic reference, though of course, a R package would be stupendous! Btw, just to clarify, the Langevin distribution with (mu, K), where mu is a vector and K>0 the concentration parameter is defined to be: f(x) = exp(K*mu'x) / const where

package lattice
Hi! I am using R1.5.0. When using functions form lattice the background is dark grey. I have tried to change it using par() but it does not work. By the way, if I use par and the standard functions like hist() there is no problem with the par function. Any hints? Thank in advance, Ignacio Perez Escuela Colombiana de Ingenieria

ylim in barplot()
Dear useRs, I'm having troubles with using ylim in barplot(): even though I reduce the y-scale using ylim, the bars still extend down to 0into the x-labels. The sample data is below, and here is the code. #This works fine but I would like to plot only from 50 to 70: barplot(t(mydata), beside=TRUE, col=c("orange", "green", "yellow", "purple"),

Call Pickup with 1.6.2.1 and Snom
Hi, I've used various patches with asterisk 1.4 to have support for call pickup and notification with good results. Now I'm trying vanilla 1.6.2 with its official support for "dialog-info +xml" notifications with no success. This is what i'm doing: - Phone A has a key configured as type "extension" pointing to Phone B. - In sip.conf I added

Vuong test
Hi, I have two questions. First, I'd like to compare a ZINB model to a negativ binomial model with the Vuong test, but I can't find how to performe it from the zicount package. Does a programm exist to do it ? Second, I'd like to know in which cases we have to use a double hurdle model instead of a zero inflated model. Many thanks, St??phanie Payet REES France R??seau

ylim in barplot()
Thank you David, That's a nice workaround using plotrix::barp(), but that doesn't explain why ylim doesn't work as intended (or at least, as I expect it to work), or why xpd has no influence when using devEMF::emf()... The problem with saving directly in RStudio is that it requires to manually save the plot, and this becomes troublesome when there are a lot of plot commands in a

Scatterplot - symbols coded by factor
Hi - I would like to create a scatterplot with the symbols coded by a factor in each record. Is their a better way than what I have used below? I attempted to use the plot.factor, but cannot force it to make a scatterplot instead of boxplots. I have considerd making a function with a 'for' statement for each level of the factor. Is there a better way for when I am dealing with more

ylim in barplot()
If you are using a Windows system, you can Export the plot from RStudio and save it as a metafile without using package devEMF and it will crop the bars with xpd=FALSE. When I used devEMF on a Windows machine, the bars were not cropped with barplot() as you indicated, but when I switched to plotrix::barp() they were cropped. The arguments are a bit different, but I did not need xpd=FALSE:

Multiple logistic regression
Dear R-users, Is there a function in R that classifies data in more than 2 groups using logistic regression/classification? I want to compare the c-indices of earlier research (lrm, binary response variables) with new c-indices obtained from 'multiple' (more response variables) logistic regression.
