xgobi vs ggobi
Hi Folks, I'm at the point where I'd normally install xgobi (which I've used and found very useful), but there is the alternative of ggobi (now at version 0.9). Would anyone with experience of both care to indicate the merits of either relative to the other? The other thing I can't make out too clearly from the ggobu website is quite what's involved in choosing between the

xgobi?
Hi all, As far as I understood from the documentation of xgobi. The package is intended to plot data in 3D (and more). Why if I enter example(xgobi) nothing displays even though the example calls also the xgobi command (yes I did load the library)? Do I need to install anything else for xgobi to work? I use R 1.6.1. on Windows 2000 platform or R 1.5.1 with RedHat 7.3 (none works). Miha

Does rattle depend on testing's ggobi?
Hello All, I'm trying to install rattle from source on a AMD64 machine running etch. I have two packages installed from the etch backport (r-cran-rodbc and r-cran-rsprng) but all the rest installed from source. I'm trying to install rattle, but install.packages("rattle", dependencies=TRUE) Tries to install rggobi, which complains about the version of libggobi. Does

Write XML according to ggobi DTD
Hi, Has anyone out there written a function to take a data.frame as input and generate XML that conforms to the DTD for ggobi ("ggobi.dtd")? In other words, like a simple version of the writeSDML function in the StatDataML package, but using ggobi.dtd instead of StatDataML.dtd. It looks easy to write such a function to handle data.frames with only numeric data, but a bit of work with

ggobi and plug-ins issues
Dear all I have issues with loading ggobi plug-ins in my Debian testing. In a R --vanilla session I get a lot of error messages about being unable to load the plug-ins (see at the end). I understand that this issue has been previously addressed [1][2], and the solution implemented in Debian: liviu at debian-liv:~$ locate /usr/lib/ggobi/plugins /usr/lib/ggobi/plugins

converting Ggobi csv input to xml for line plots in 3d
Hi, I was wondering if any Ggboi experts have encountered the following. I have data in csv that I want to plot with lines in ggobi. Unfortunately, there is some kind of information missing that xml seems to contain. I.e. I can plot scatterplots with dots using csv input, but not connect with lines. Any ideas on how to convert to xml, or modify the csv file to get the information? P.S. An

3D graphics with R
Is there any graphical frontend/secondary programm (freely availible for Windowsor Linux) which can be used with R to display the results of a principle component analysis in 3D space (rotatable!?)? 3D plot not working as desired!
Hello R-users! I am trying to plot 3 vectors (x,y,z) of observations generated by mvrnorm in library(MASS). I tried plot3d in library(djmrgl) and scatterplot3d. But these program gives x,y,z axis which do not intersect at the origin (0,0,0). I searched through all the graphics related packages for R like xgobi, ggobi, grid and more. Quite confusing which one to choose. Would anyone recommend

R-2.0.1 and Rggobi
Hi, I've had no luck with the combination of R-2.0.1 and Rggobi/gobi (1.1-1 and 1.0-1 beta). I've tried a default configuration of ggobi, as well as one with all the plugins enabled. I'm using RedHat 9 Linux. The problem I'm experiencing is a segmentation fault when library.dynam is called from .First.lib ggobi appears to work OK from the command line. I had an earlier

Rggobi compilation error: display.c
On a ubuntu linux computer (Feisty, i386), I compile R and additional packages from source. The compiler is gcc 4.1.2. The problem is, I can run "sudo R" and successfully compile all packages (e.g., MASS, lattice) except rggobi. The error seems to be in display.c. My ggobi is in /usr/local/, which R can find. I don't think this is a dependence issue because install.packages(...,
