Dear R-users and R-developpers, I've not been able to find 3d graphics in R, like Splus spin() or brush(). Are there any that I've missed and/or is anybody working on implementing these type of functions? Is there a package (other than xgobi which requires an X server) that will do scatterplot brushing? I see a mention in the mail archive of R-orca by Anthony Rossini but it is not in the current list of packages. hello, I wish to create some 3d scatter diagrams visualising different grouped data set by a given field in the database. I tried the scatterplot3d package, as well as the plot3d and scatter3d functions (both within the rgl resp. Rcmdr package). My first question is, whether is it possibe to group data in the scatterplot3d and plot3d, because I did not succeed to use the groups = ...

has there been any attempt to improve the 3D visualization (interactive) features in R, using the vtk library? I would like to generate a movie from a 3D object (code below), where the vortex A is closer to the observer, and then the object rotates and the B vortex gets closer. Hi all, As far as I understood from the documentation of xgobi. The package is intended to plot data in 3D (and more). Why if I enter example(xgobi) nothing displays even though the example calls also the xgobi command (yes I did load the library)? Do I need to install anything else for xgobi to work? I use R 1.6.1. on Windows 2000 platform or R 1.5.1 with RedHat 7.3 (none works). Miha

A student of mine wants to use R to do some nonmetric multidimensional scaling. According to the R FAQ, there's a package called pcurve that computes multidimensional scaling solutions, but I was not able to locate it the contrib page (I am a Windows user with R version 1.4.1).
