Problem with Notepad ++
A little more thought into helping troubleshooting maybe take an ls -l and a properties screen shot in the middle of editing a file. It could be some setting in notepad++ that is interfering with itself. RAqua package installation on Panther
From the RAqua faq just uploaded to CRAN (so it will take until tomorrow to appear) Panther notes After installing Panther (MacOSX 10.3) it turns out that package installation (either from sources or from binaries) can fail. If you get an error "like" this (this comes from source package installation) dyld: gcc version mismatch for library: /usr/local/lib/libiconv.2.dylib

problem with the installed R script
Dear R-help, I had a problem running a Perl script on AIX inside pipe() or system(). The Perl script was not finding some modules when run from within R. The sysadmin tracked it down to a problem with R_LD_LIBRARY_PATH in the installed /usr/local/bin/R script: original: : ${R_LD_LIBRARY_PATH=${R_HOME}/bin:/opt/freeware/lib:/usr/local/lib:/opt/free

LINUX SuSE15.4 (GNU & Intel) compiler problem in "configure" file
Dear R-Support Team: I am fully aware that you are all extremely busy and forward this request as brief and clear as possible: Thank you for the comprehensive Documentation for R-4.3.1 (very helpful) A limitation seems to have emerged, using SuSE SP15.4 (kernel: 5.14.21-150400.22) on an INTEL Skylake-e SERVER, applying both the GNU and Intel (2023.0.0) compilers. a) The

rsync hang, more details [LONG]
rsync 2.5.0 still has a bug where it hangs under some circumstances. The hang is beyond my abilities to track down. I'll keep trying, though, but here are details in case they're of use to anyone else: - Code configured & built on Solaris 2.5.1. - Same binary run on Solaris 2.5.1 (client) and 2.8 (server). - Using rsh transport, but also fails with ssh - Does not fail with

DO NOT REPLY [Bug 2294] Detect renamed files and handle by renaming instead of delete/re-send
https://bugzilla.samba.org/show_bug.cgi?id=2294 ------- Comment #12 from phr-samba at nightsong.com 2011-01-28 20:38 CST ------- Hi, I was about to enter a similar suggestion to this. My very frequent use case is moving files from one directory to another. In that situation the file name does not change--just the directory path leading to it. These are often quite large files (0.2 to

DirectShow PushSource with theora encoder and Ogg muxer filters
Hi all, I am trying to test DirectShow PushSource example from the SDK with Theora encoder and Ogg muxer (DirectShow filters of course) by using GraphEdit tool. My goal is capturing the screen as video by taking snaphot bitmaps continuosly (what PushSource eaxmple does) and giving them to the Theora encoder through the DS pipeline (next goal is transmitting this video **). My DirectShow graph is

prefixed zlib and bzip2 headers
Hello, I'm trying to compile R-3.3.3 or R-3.4.0 on a RHEL6 system that I've prefixed the latest headers down a shared utility path, I've sourced this path in LD_LIBRARY_LATH, R_LD_LIBRARY_PATH, and dropping the headers down /src/include which appears to be the default R_include_dir but it will not accept these any other place than /usr/include. Is there a way to properly define a

[PATCH] tools: don't expand prefix and exec_prefix too early
A comment in tools/configure says that it is intended for these to be command line overridable, so they shouldn''t get expanded at configure time. The patch is fixing tools/m4/default_lib.m4 as far as I can see myself doing this, but imo it is flawed altogether and should rather be removed: - setting prefix and exec_prefix to default values is being done later in tools/configure anyway

PXE Bootdisk
Hello, I hope that I am applying this question to the correct place, if not I do apologise! I would like to create a boot floppy which mimics a PXE rom. In this instance I would like to boot very old non PXE NIC workstations and install them from our Windows RIS. Is it necessary that I create a some sort of full Linux boot cd to use for this purpose or is there a pre prepared boot disk already
