Ord-Getis O statistics
Hi list,
I am wondering if anybody knows if the Ord-Getis O statistics of
local spatial autocorrelation in the presence of the global spatial
association is implemented in any of the R packages - and of
course in which package ;-)). I am not interested in Getis-Ord G
statistics, for now.
Thank you in advance,

How to do the significant test on Local Moran's I
Dear list:
I've tried professor Roger Bivand's spdep package
for a while, and found it is quite useful. However,
when considering the significance test of the local
moran's index under the assumption of both normality
and randomization, I just can't get a clue from the
package's calculating results. I also read professor
Luc Anselin's 1995 LISA paper (geographical

Moran's index
Hi,
I am looking for some code for Moran's I. Has anyone previously done this?
I have been unable to find it in the search engines.

Help needed on calculation of Moran's I
Hi,
I am trying to calculate Moran's I test for the residuals for a
regression equation, but I have trouble converting my coordinates into
nb format.
I have used the dnearneigh() funtion now with an arbitrarily high upper
distance to make it include all plots. However, when I do the
lm.morantest() I get a Moran's I value which is the same as the expected
value and a P-value of 1.

Using PCNM() in Vegan and calculating Moran's I
Hello-
I am using the vegan package PCMN() because I need to use option of row
weights (I am using CCA following the selection of the significant/positive
PCNM variables). In the library PCNM (PCNM function), the Moran's I is
calculated for you as part of the function. I see that I need to calculate
Moran's I separately in order to retain the eigenfunctions with positive

How to do "moran's I test"?
I want to do "moran's I test" in R language. I try to use "gearymoran" in
Package "ade4","moran" in Package "spdep", and Moran.I in Package "ape". But
I do not know how to do it because data format is different.
My data:
x y dbh
111.03 10.7 7
118.11 0.28 1.2

CRAN task view: Multivariate
Hello,
I've assembled a Multivariate ctv (with a lot of help from Achim Zeleis,
who has now posted the view on CRAN).
I'd be grateful for comments regarding missing packages / functions.
Opinions on the organisation of the view would also be appreciated, as
well as having any errors pointed out. I've adopted a rather broad and
vague definition of "multivariate", which may

spdep question - Moran's I
Dear all,
I would like to calculate a Moran's I statistic using the moran function in the spdep package. The problem I'm having deals with how to create the listw object.
My data stems from the area of social network analysis. I have list of poeple and for each pair of them I have a measure of their relationship strength. So my dataset looks like: Jim; Bob; 0.5
This measure of

R: Moran's I
Hi-
I would like to assign distance classes (lags) to the moran''s I test in R.
I don¹t have equally spaced points since I was mapping shrubs across a
landscape (vs. an experiment or survey in a grid). I somehow need to
select points based on the distances in the distance matrix (i.e., I need to
select all pairs of points that occur 0-25 m from each other, 25-50 m,
etc...).

Producing "Editable" Graphs for PowerPoint
Hello,
(apologies, I'm not entirely sure whether this question is about R or my
limitations with PowerPoint). I've submitted a paper (which has been
accepted) but the journal now require me to submit graphs that are
"editable in PowerPoint". I would be grateful for suggestions as to
how I should do this.
The best route seems to be to copy-and-paste the figures from the

help on moran's I index of point pattern, not areal pattern
hi,friends,
we all know that moran's I index and Geary'C index can be used to test
spatial autocorrelation in both the area data and point data, but i only can
find something on how to calculate on the data of area, and can't find the
methods to perform it on the point data, could anybody give me some
information, thanks in advance!

pairs: altering pch options on upper and lower panel of pairwise scatter plots
Hello,
I can't figure out how to use the upper.panel and lower.panel options in
pairs to alter the label options for either panel independently of the
other.
I would like to be able to show the pairwise scatter plots for the data
as they are (a vanilla pairs plot?) but separately to be able to label
the points according to a factor level. It is easy enough to do this
independently, but I

R and condor
Hello,
I would be extremely grateful if anyone is able to provide any (rather obscure) advice on using R with Condor. I think I'm following Xianhong Xie's instructions (R News 5(2) 13-15) correctly, but my job just stays held in the queue (for days / months). I've checked condor_status to make sure there are plenty of machines available, but can't see any way to attack the

Cross-compilers versus windows compilers (was optimal win dows R machine)
Good morning,
May I ask a naive follow up to this? Having now been granted limited
rights to use R-windows on a work PC, I wish to set up my home PC to support
compiling packages and so on. I currently have a working Linux set-up at
home, is there any general advice as to whether it would be better to add in
the cross-compilers there or is it better to persuade my home PC to dual
boot windows

destroy vs delete
what is the difference between destroy and delete in AR
I am not sure what they mean by
"Destroys the record with the given id by instantiating the object and
calling destroy<http://api.rubyonrails.com/classes/ActiveRecord/Base.html#M000866>(all
the callbacks are the triggered). If an array of ids is provided, all
of them are destroyed."

who can tell me the reason why it is different on calculating Moran's I using ARCGIS, Geoda and R?
The attachment is my dataset:
1.ccc.shp (the original data)
2.ccc.gwt, which is computed by Geoda;
Introduction to the variables in my data:
ID: key variable;
N_LATITUDE: latitude measured by GPS;
E_LONGITUD: longitude measured by GPS;
LIVES: attribute data
I get the different result of Moran's between ARCGIS and Geoda, R, why?

chron is.weekend() function
Hello,
I have a dataset which has fields giving both calendar date and weekday. I
know better functions are now available, but I am still using chron because
of the is.holiday() function and a homemade (even Heath Robinson would be
ashamed) is.daylight() function.
As a check for typos in the data input, I checked that the dates matched the
weekdays. I'm getting some confusing results

Testing the equality of correlations
Dear All,
I wonder if there is any implemented statistical test in R to test the equality between many correlations. As an example, let X1, X2, X3 X4 be four random variables. let
Phi(X1,X2) , Phi(X1,X3) and Phi(X1,X4) be the corresponding correlations.
How to test Phi(X1,X2) = Phi(X1,X3) = P(X1,X4)?
Many thanks in advance,
Bernard
