Acts_as_authenticated
Hello
I have been trying a number of security/login generators recently. My
favourite so far is the Acts_as_authenticated. I like the fact that it
is only billed as a starting point and doesn''t try to do everything.
I would like to add security roles to it, so that some of my controller
actions can only be used by an admin role. Has anybody implemented this

miro from rpmforge appears to have dep solving issues
Hi folks,
Anyone know the whereabouts of libgtkembedmoz.so()(64bit) as it is
needed by miro-1.0-1.el5.rf.x86_64 (rpmforge)
I tried a whatprovides and have looked at epel as well as rpmforge - no
luck.
While I'm asking, I'm looking for an internet HD TV viewer - miro looked
interesting - any other products you know of?
TIA
Rob

'load' does not properly add 'show' methods for classes extending 'list'
The GeneSetCollection class in the Bioconductor package GSEABase
extends 'list'
> library(GSEABase)
> showClass("GeneSetCollection")
Slots:
Name: .Data
Class: list
Extends:
Class "list", from data part
Class "vector", by class "list", distance 2
Class "AssayData", by class "list", distance 2

extending lattice to S4 classes
Hi,
I'm writing methods for a package called FLCore (see
http://flr-project.org/) in particular for a class called "FLQuant"
which extends array.
Previously I was able to write methods based on the class of "data" but
now I can not do it due to the single parameter "x". Is there a way to
do this ?
Regards

In principle a good idea, but I'm not sure the whereabouts of Catherine Loader are known at this point. Last peeps from her on the net seem to be about a decade old.

methods: Extending classes
Hi (again), let's say I want to create a class Matrix that extends the class
matrix, but I can't get it to work. I define the class as
> setClass("Matrix", "matrix")
> getClass("Matrix")
No Slots, prototype of class "matrix"
Extends:
Class "matrix" directly.
Class "structure" by class "matrix".

IMAP ANNOTATE Extension RFC5257: priority on roadmap
Hi Timo,
congrats to the merger with OX.
Currently the implementation of RFC 5257, ANNOTATE-EXPERIMENT-1, has
only low priority on http://wiki2.dovecot.org/Roadmap
I want to explain a scenario that would benefit from annotation support
to - maybe - increase the priority in your roadmap:

How can I utilize this library within my Rails app?
How would I go about referencing the graphs that Scruffy generates
within my Rails app?

Optimus and Nvidia
I need to buy a Sager 5125 laptop immediately and I am concerned about the
Optimus setup in this model.
It comes with a Nvidia 330M/Intel Hybrid.
I want to use this with Fedora 13. I do not care if I can switch. I just
want it to work. I can also deal with only the onboard graphics working in
linux.
Do you think the HDMI output will work or I will need the 330M driver for
that?
I see nvidia

Delayed variable expansion for P_PATH/P_STRING is missing (loadparm.c)
Hi,
the section "Global Parameters" of the current
http://rsync.samba.org/ftp/rsync/rsyncd.conf.html says:
"You may use references to environment variables in the values of
parameters. String parameters will have %VAR% references expanded as
late as possible (when the string is used in the program), allowing for
the use of variables that rsync sets at connection time, such as

S4 class extending data.frame?
-----BEGIN PGP SIGNED MESSAGE-----
Hash: SHA1
I would like to build an S4 class that extends
a data frame, but includes several more slots.
Here's an example using integer as the base
class instead:
setClass("c1",representation(comment="character"),contains="integer")
z1 = new("c1",55,comment="hello")

S4 classes that extend S3 classes
Up to now, writing an S4 class that extends an S3 class (using
contains= in the call to setClass) has been discouraged for two main
reasons:
1. You can't say anything formal about S3 classes, so validating
objects, having formal slots for their properties, etc. are not
generally feasible.
2. In any case, the S3 class, which may have multiple strings in the
class attribute, was not

S4 extends a class, but .Data slot has different class
When I define an S4 class ("B" in the example below) that directly extends
another ("A" in the example below) , which in turn directly extends another
("character" in the example below), I find that the slot does not have the
class I specified in setClass(), it has the underlying class.
Is this an intended feature?
Briefly, the reason for using this type of

extending survival curves past the last event using plot.survfit
Hello,
I'm using plot.survfit to plot cumulative incidence of an event.
Essentially, my code boils down to:
cox <-coxph(Surv(EVINF,STATUS) ~ strata(TREAT) + covariates, data=dat)
surv <- survfit(cox)
plot(surv,mark.time=F,fun="event")
Follow-up time extends to 54 weeks, but the last event occurs at week
30, and no more people are censored in between. Is there a
