Samba AD member and connections from non-AD systems failing
Hello,
I have a problem where non-AD systems can no longer connect to Samba shares. Samba 3.5.x servers are a members in AD, Windows 2008R2. This has worked flawlessly since we initiated it a couple years back. This happened to all 3 Samba servers after AD servers were rebooted. My thoughts are it was a Windows update that wrecked the system. Here is a typical setup:

Analog of least significant difference error bars for proportions
Dear R-list,
In the R-book, p.464, Michael Crawley recommends that error
bars for bar plots of normally distributed continuous response
variables with categorical explanatory variables be given by
1/2 of the least significant difference, where the least significant
difference is defines as
qt(0.975,degrees_of_freedom)*standard_error_of_the_difference.
The idea is that the above quantity

Annoucement in MeetMe and segmentation fault
Hi!
I have MeetMe working fine except I thought that if I used the "i"
option, there would be some kind of announcement made upon a new meetme
person joining a conference. Is that correct? Is it the "i" option?
Because I'm not hearing an annoucement when a new person joins the
conference.
Also, if I combine the "i" with the "x" option, there is

ANNOUCEMENT: Tool to combine call recording into a single 'stereo' file
Figured this might be interesting to some on the list. I've written a
small tool to combine the 2 res_monitor created wav files into a single
compressed (IMA ADPCM 8KB/s) stereo file. During playback, you can
select the party to listen to by fiddling with the audio balance.
Email me off-list if you would like a copy.
Cheers.

[Annoucement] Compiz feature branch compiz++
Hi,
I've currently pushed a new branch called "compiz++" to the freedesktop repository, with some features I've been working on during last months. Because most of the features also require (BIG) changes to the plugins, I've decided to put them all together.

Annoying winbind problem solved
I have been on the web for hours reading email postings about WINDBIND.
Here is the scenario. Samba 2.27 on Redhat 8, installed via the redhat
RPMs. the first interesting note was that there is no samba-winbind rpm.
It is a part of the samba-common.rpm in redhat. I have been using Samba
as a file server for quite some time. And 100% of my issues with it stem
from permission problems. So I heard

multivariate Stochastic Volatility and GARCH
Dear everyone,
i`m a german economics student, writing my masterĀ“s thesis about
"Multivariate Volatility Models". After having read about theoretical
aspects of Multivariate GARCH ans Stochastic Volatility Models, I would like
to compare DCC-GARCH and DC-SV with help of an empirical application. I
figuered out that one has to use MCMC-simulation-methods for that. Some days
