prob1 <- sum((n-ind+1)*(m-ind+1)*prob)

Installing R on Solaris
Hi,
I've been trying to install R on Solaris, I've been following the
instruction for configuring & compiling R (I have gcc and f77
installed)- but I get Error messages. I'd appreciate it if you could
look at the output, (pasted below) and give me some advice on what to
do. I've attached the R install 'readme'.
Thanks, a quick reply would be greatly appreciated,

Renaming Rplots.ps from BATCH scripts.
I often use R CMD BATCH to run my files (e.g. script.R), and get the
output recorded in script.Rout -- this is great. On my setup (R.2.3.0
on linux), if any plots are created, they get stored in Rplots.ps.
This can get confusing if I have several batch scripts in one
directory.
I've written a simple shell script to rename Rplots.ps to
e.g. script.Rout.ps so that later I can easily identify

You have lmtp as unix socket configured but want to access from remote via tcp socket? I think you need inet_listener instead of unix_ listener

Usando R CMD BATCH no me funciona savePlot()
Buenas tardes:
Hasta ahora he utilizado savePlot() en ejecuciones de R en Windows, donde lo
que hago es grabar la ventana de gráficos mediante dev.cur() en formato pdf.
Concretamente éste es el código:
> savePlot(filename = ruta_pdf, type = "pdf", device = dev.cur(),
restoreConsole = TRUE)
Este comando está dentro de un bucle de "n" ejecuciones, por lo que guardo

mirroring R
Dear supporter,
Can you tell me please how can I mirroring R at our site? One of the reasons I would like to do this is the fact that it is impossible to update R behind our firewalls.
Thank in advance

Announcing FreeBSD 2.0.5 ALPHA!
It gives me great pleasure to announce the release of FreeBSD 2.0.5-ALPHA!
2.0.5A represents a significant improvement over FreeBSD 2.0R and is our
release-candidate for 2.0.5R later on this week. We're doing a short ALPHA
release in order to shake out any glaring bugs before rolling 2.0.5R and
moving on to 2.1R, which is the bigger goal. If you're looking for 2.1R,
then THIS ISN'T

is there a way of identifying batch mode running?
Hello list
Is there a way of identifying from within R whether a script has been source(d) from Rgui.exe or via Rscript.exe in batch mode?
For the code I have I use the commandArgs() function to pick up command line args when running in batch mode via Rscript.exe
However I like to get the code working manually first using source("MyRCode.r")
I'd like to be able to put something at

Batch Mode for Windows
Hi, I have researched batch mode for windows and could not find anything that
worked.
I know the code should be
$ R CMD BATCH inputfile.R outputfile.Rout
or
R <inputfile.R > outputfile.Rout
I tried these without success. I need detailed, step by step instructions on
how to do this. I have tried typing C:\R\bin\x64\Rgui.exe before it, but
this just opens R.
When I tried to do this, it

using rsync 3.0.0 CVS version
Hi,
I've wanted to start working with this CVS version cuz the new
"incremental-recursion algorithm" is just what I need. But ran into a
problem...
When I start the rsync, either with the rsync protocol or rsh, i found that
it'll start doing the rsync and just halt after a few hundred MBs or even up
to a couple GBs.
I was never able to finish an rsync.
Anyone else had this

Append to outfile in R CMD BATCH mode
Is there a way to append to the outfile when using R CMD BATCH? My code, right now, is:

Everything else is working the way I'd like it. The first few lines of code of my script file are:
options(echo=FALSE)
cmd_args = commandArgs()
print (cmd_args)
