R Add-on Packages
As the 0.65 release should happen within the next few weeks, now would
be a good time for updating/improving our impressive collection of add
on packages.
Issues to look look into include:
* Valid and complete DESCRIPTION, TITLE and INDEX files.
* Complete data/00Index files (if applicable).
* All examples should be executable to that R CMD check passes.
* src/Makefile (if there, most likely

tseries bug (PR#593)
Full_Name: Przemys³aw Matuszewski
Version: R-1.1.0
OS: Linux RH 6.2
Submission from: (NULL) (195.117.211.244)
I have a problem with the package tseries_0.5-2.
The source of tseries_0.5-2 was compiled by command R INSTALL /path/to/package.
There was build the tseries library. Now when I try to load the package I get

How to build a AR(q)-GARCH(q) process ?
Hello all,
I would like how to modelized a time serie with AR-ARCH process.
It can be used arma and garch functions in tseries package for build
ar process or a garch process, but how can it be modelized a ar-garch
model ?
Thanks

Dear all,
Can garch function fit also t-innovations or only Gaussian innovations?

would like to know how to simulated a GARCH(1,2)
Follow the example in tseries, we can simulated a GARCH(0,2),
n <- 1100
a <- c(0.1, 0.5, 0.2) # ARCH(2) coefficients
e <- rnorm(n)
x <- double(n)
x[1:2] <- rnorm(2, sd = sqrt(a[1]/(1.0-a[2]-a[3])))
for(i in 3:n) # Generate ARCH(2) process
{
x[i] <- e[i]*sqrt(a[1]+a[2]*x[i-1]^2+a[3]*x[i-2]^2)
}
x <- ts(x[101:1100])
and x is a GARCH(0,2).
But, I would like to know how

GARCH estimation
Anyone know if there's an R package somewhere that supports estimation
of a linear regression model with GARCH error process?
There's a garch command in the tseries package, but unless I'm missing
something it is restricted to the univariate case, i.e. you can fit a
GARCH model to a single time-series but not estimate a model with
GARCH errors.

installing online help (PR#423)
When I attempt to install the online help for R.99 on Intel RH5.2, I
get the following message
Substitution loop at /usr/local/src/R/etc/Rdconvlib.pl line 1589, <rdfile> chunk 171
and it stops after a few files. Each time I rerun it, it gets a bit
further and gives a different number at the end. I commented out the
line 1589 and it works.

Logistic ridge regression ...
Hi
I have some data (v. large amount) with a (0,1) response where I want to
minimise the errors in the betas rather than SS or deviance.
So can anyone point me to a ridge regression function or equivalent for
such a logistic regression case?

Modified ARMA function
R-guRus ,
ARMA function in tseries, seems to be calculating the AR coeff 's as
coef <- lm(xx[,1]~xx[,lag$ar+1])$coef [*snipped* from around line

I'd like to modify this model with another term somewhat in these lines
lm(xx[,1] ~xx[,lag$ar+1]+mvgsignal)$coef
where mvgsignal is a moving average signal based on some indicators, the
question
is could i simply hack into

Reg GARCH+ARIMA
Hi,
Although my doubt is pretty,as i m not from stats background i am not sure
how to proceed on this.
Currently i am doing a forecasting.I used ARIMA to forecast and time series
was volatile i used garchFit for residuals.
How to use the output of Garch to correct the forecasted values from ARIMA.
Here is my code:
###delta is the data
fit<-arima(delta,order=c(2,,0,1))

ARIMA and GARCH
Hello,
I would like to study time series with ARIMA and GARCH models.
I installed R-Plus and its libraries but when I try to execute the function
arima0, It answers that the function does not exist.
Could you help me or give me references of papers dealing with arima and garch
in R-Plus?
Thanks

how to forecast the GARCH volatility?
Dear All,
I have loaded package(tseries), but when I run
predict.garch(...) R tells me could not find function
"predict.garch", however ?predict.garch shows me
something. I am confused about this. How can I
forecast garch volatility?
I have tried:
predict(...,n.ahead=...),give me fitted value
predict(...,n),give me NA,NA

function for prediting garch
hello,
In my time series data, I was able to successfully fit
its ARIMA model (Box-Jenkins) and its GARCH model and
estimate their parameters. I was also able to forecast
future values of the time series based on my fitted
ARIMA model using the predict() function call.
However, I'm not sure what is the correct function
command to call in order to forecast future values of
my time series

Time Series - Function to fit ARIMA and GARCH components
I'm searching for a function to fit a conditional mean structure (ARIMA) and
a conditional variance structure (GARCH) to a data set for one model.
Particularly, I'm trying to fit an IMA(1,1)+GARCH(1,1) model to a data set.
However, I can't seem to find a function that will let me specify both the
ARIMA and GARCH components.
Any help would be appreciated!
