installing under IRIX 6.3
Dear All:
I'm new to R, though I've used S+ on Windows. Since now I'm working on a
SGI, I would like to switch to R.
I'm trying to install R v.0.64.1 on a Silicon Graphics R5000 under IRIX
6.3, 180 MHz, 128 Mb RAM, but ran into some problems.
When I do the ./configure everything goes well, but when I do the make I
get the following error:
ld: ERROR 33: Unresolved text symbol

R-beta: Installation problems on SGI-IRIX
Hello,
first, I'd like to congratulate everybody involved in the development of
this statistical software. I've been working for a while with R on
Macintosh, and I like the incredible freedom that we get when working
with a flexible program like R. Experiencing serious limitations in the
implementation of functions and reuse of results of previous analyses in
traditional statistical

HDF 5 install - how to pass configure flag to the R CMD command
The basic question is: How can I pass configure script command line flags
from the R CMD command?
Now I try to install the HDF5 package on Linux (SuSE 7.3).
I got hdf5 libraries installed in /usr/local/hdf5 (man/lib/bin).
I understood to install packages the following way:
as root# R CMD INSTALL hdf5_1.4.7.tar.gz
Installing source package `hdf5' ...

Remove attribute from netcdf4 object
Hi Marc
That's a workaround I can use. Thanks. I'm a newbie regarding netCDF data. Is there any information I'm losing when switching between the packages?

Dear Marc
Thanks for your remark. I don't want to use both packages. I mentioned the package RNetCDF to show that there is a similar function I' d like to use.

[LLVMdev] Non-deterministic behavior when using LoopInfo pass in LLVM
Hello,
I'm having a little problem with passes that use LoopInfo. Their statistics
aren't the same when I execute the same pass multiple times in the same
program.
After some investigation, I've found out that LoopInfo is the root of the
problem.
I wrote a little pass that counts the loop headers (number of basic blocks
for which LoopInfo.isLoopHeader(BB) is true). I've picked

Good day,
The use of "rounding" also doesn't make sense. If The number is halfway between two integers, it is rounded to the nearest even integer.

[R] Free Software Application for UNIX/Linux and Microsoft Windows
Dear Michael Camann,
My concern was after having a hetero-computing environment for many years, I
found that I had to keep an old version of Microsoft Windows based
applications to be able to interact with my constituents. This at times can
become very expensive. I have had to limit my budget on the UNIX/Linux
platform to compensate for Microsoft Windows based applications.

Just a very quick message to let you know that I have added a higher
quality setting (-h2, +10Ko) and I have added now residual coding on the
512x256 wavelet image for the higher settings.Precision is a little
better.-I also still apply the post-processing function on the 512x256
wavelet image for now.-
Here is the link for the binaries (as I can not link them in my blog for
now):

getting stuck right after I select the keyboard layout.
I get the following message on the console:

and it just hangs there. I think sil and pdc are referring to the
onboard raid chips that the drive was attached to. This drive was
