Compiling error R-0.90.1
Hi, I'm struggling to compile R-0.90.1 in a RedHat 6.1 machine. (I have the rpm, but I would like to compile it, as I do under SuSE 6.3). I have also installed quite a few other libraries (not installed by default, in particular, *-devel-* ones), but to no avail thus far. Here's the compilation error after going through ./configure [root at friedman R-0.90.1]# make <snip>

configuration/compilation problems
R is having trouble finding some of the things it needs to compile. In particular, I'm getting messages saying that it can't find things it wants in -lblas, -ldxml, -ldnet, and -ldnet_stub. It also can't find dl.h, ieeefp.h, and ieee754.h. I can't figure out whether these things are included with R somewhere and I need to tell it where to look, or they're not included and I

Can anyone spot the problem here. Following is an edited script of the install session. The gist is: * syntax error in original src/main/dotcode.c Easily remedied (or at least, such that compiles without error message ... ) change line 449-450 (two lines preceding return) #ifdef HAVE_F77_UNDERSCORE if(PRIMVAL(op)) { *q++ = '_'; *q = '\0'; #endif }

winelib problems with .configure
I am attempting to use winemaker on a relatively straightforward Windows App that we have. Just a little background, we started the effort by first evaluating our application in Wine itself and obtained very good results. Now, we're moving on to try and compile a version for Linux by using Winelib and running into this problem. I ran winemaker with this: winemaker --lower-all which finished

R-beta: Compile error; R-0.60.1, Solaris 2.6, gcc 2.7.2.1
Hi! I have just downloaded the R-0.60.1 sources and have problems compiling R on a Sun Ultra 1 running Solaris 2.6 and gcc 2.7.2.1. I have not been able to find to find any compiling hints in the documentation or the FAQ. After ./configure I use make and get the output below. Any hints are welcome. I am not on the list, so please answer me directly too. Best regards Jens --- Jens Lund

Half-Life: Selected Mode is not supported by your card
Hi, following the explainations of the Linux Half-Life Howto I ran into the problem. Since some places are menshioned in the HOWTO, that you should check after this error, I get: root@notch:/home/pwk/wine/wine > ./configure creating cache ./config.cache checking whether make sets ${MAKE}... yes checking for gcc... gcc checking whether the C compiler (gcc ) works... yes checking whether the

problems compiling R-0.63.3 and 0.64.0 on alpha
I have problems compiling R (both 0.63.3 and 0.64.0) on a DEC-UX 4.0E alpha (ev6) as illustrated in the enclosed log. I have tried adding the suggestions given in PLATFORMS, without any significant improvement... I have included the config.cache aswell. Any suggestions on how to solve this ? Thanx! packages with FORTRAN code
Recent sensible changes to the dynload mechanism have made an old problem resurface: how should we deal with packages which contain Fortran code and may need to be linked against additional libraries such as -lf2c? The current consensus is that extra Fortran libraries maybe needed are handled via the make variable FLIBS, and that `-lf2c' or `-lg2c' are added by default if g77 is used.

If we use vfork, can the smbd and nmbd work rightly?
Hi All, I has been trying to port the Samba package to uClinux. But our uClinux toolchain doesn't support the fork() call. I must replace the fork with vfork.If we use vfork, the smbd and nmbd can not work rightly. both samba-3.0.32 and samba-3.0.2a have the question. In samba/source/smbd/server.c, the function open_sockets_smbd(), creates a child process and a parent process. Both these
