R-beta: Corrections to documentation
Thanks to Peter Dalgaard's message, I learned a bit more about the 'par'
function and rewrote my HTML help file accordingly. Is it appropriate
to submit such changes somewhere to improve the documentation? I would
also be willing to write some missing documentation as well.

R-beta: scripting with R?
I've been playing with R for a while using emacs ESS. I've started to
like it a
lot ( the beautiful S language was unknown to me before I dumped into R)
I want to make some scripts to automate the display of some statistics
on web pages. I started to look for ways of using R in a scripting
environment
but I could not find information on this. Is there a way to call R with
command prompt

In the past I have used several different working directories for different
projects, and during many of these projects I have written some functions
for particular purposes. Now I thought I would be nice to have all these
"personal" functions collected in one place, and to make them available in R
no matter which

graphics
I have been receiving complaints that my libraries no longer give
reasonable graphics with R0.90. I have been replying that I have not
changed anything. Among my travels (presently in Umea), I have finally
had a chance to take a look. The best way to describe the current
default graphics is HORRIBLY UGLY. The R core member who made those
changes should buy glasses to see the screen better instead

R-beta: package ported from S to R
Hello,
I'm trying to port the S package "print.display" to R. The porting
procedure seemed to work, but when I say library(print.display) or
library("print.display"), then none of the functions is available. May
be, it's because of the dot in the package name?
What could have happened?
The help information is available.
BTW: How can I look up wether the package is

R-alpha: batch
Back to my favourite R subject: batch mode. Some months ago, I pointed
out how the default of saving .RData automatically in batch can often
lead to completely erroneous results when using data.frames. Basically
the idea of .RData is to save the environment to start where one left
off. This will generally be quite different than where one started
the session. The idea of a batch file is to redo a
