R-beta: help ((message first bounced because of subject -- your admin.))
The help file provided within the rsept.zip is somewhat outdated
compared to the one available on http://www.stat.math.ethz.ch/R/manual/;
would it be possible to update the file for a more easy download instead
of having either to download individually or going online ?

R-beta: questions and comments
Let me first tell you that you and your cohorts are
doing a great service to the statistical community
with R. I have been working with Rseptbeta under
Win95 and I am very impressed with its capabilities.
I thought I give you some feedback gained from
my limited playing with R.

R-beta: wish: hist() returning breaks and counts
Hi,
would it be possible to change the hist() function in future R Versions to
accept a "plot=F" parameter (like hist() in S it should return a list with
"breaks" and "counts" in this case). This change should be very simple.

R-beta: R on NT
I'm having trouble with R on NT.
Sept 1 97 version 50 in file rsept works fine, except I can't boost
the memory - either with the menu or with DOS command Rsept -v50
In fact, if I run in DOS command mode (no shortcut) I get NT error
window: errno 1411. But then R runs.
With rseptbeta and rsept31 versions, R starts for a millisecond and then
disappears. I've tried replacing the

R-beta: new executable
I have just put up a new executable as a replacement for the one in
rseptbeta.zip
there have only been a few changes; mostly to the menu's. I am about
to start on a major overhaul including getting survival to work and
grabbing the 0.60 version once it's stable.
Please let me know about other enhancements you want....

R-beta: Time Series Analysis
I have just downloaded rsept.zip and rseptbeta.zip for Windows 95 and I
think that is a GREAT product.
1st: I want to know the differences between them.
2nd: I'm interested very much in time series analysis, but watching the
html help there is not any function (for ex. like the S-Plus functions acf
pacf and arima functions etc). If there is some pacages to plug-in with
documentation

R-beta: legend
Does the "legend" command work in the windows version of R? Here is
the command that I'm using:
legend(1,1,legend=c("G1","G2","G3","G4","G5","G6"),pch=array(1:6,dim=c
(1,6)))
When I use this on my existing graph in a window I get a solid black
box at the lower left. If I use this with the postscript driver my

R-beta: questions from a beginner
I am new to R and I was wondering if I could ask a few questions.
(I am running R on a Windows NT box.)
1. Is the random number generator in R the same as the one in S
"Super-Duper")?
2. Is it possible to use dyn.load in the Windows version?
3. When is the next release of R coming out?
Thanks a lot. Best,
Francisco

R-beta: ctest_0_9-3_tar.tar
I'm having trouble un 'tar'ing the file ctest_0_9-3_tar.tar.
When using the command "tar -xv" on a UNIX machine I get the
"checksum error" message. When trying to use WinZip on a Win95
machine it gives an error reading the header.
I'm downloading from the CRAN site at Carnegie Mellon. Could the file
there be corrupted?
Thanks for any help, and sorry if

[LLVMdev] Another LLVM JIT extension to Python
Dear LLVM,
I am a young developer who have just uploaded my first opensource
project based on LLVM. I would like to know what professionals think of
my project.
I have started a JIT extension to Python called Pymothoa (
http://code.google.com/p/pymothoa/). Unlike other similar projects, I
did not modify the interpreter. Pymothoa uses Python decorators to mark
function for JIT compiling. It

R under Red Hat Linux 6.0
I have just upgraded from Red Hat Linux 5.2 to version 6.0 (with
GNOME) on an intel box. I have also upgraded to the latest R version
(0.64.1-2 rpm) and have also installed the corresponding GNOME rpm.
However, I am not able to start R:

I must be missing something very simple. I would appreciate
any guidance. Thanks. FC.
