How to deal with accentuated chars in 0.10.8?
I''m startin to use Ferret and acts_as_ferret.
I need to use something like EuropeanAnalyzer
(http://olivier.liquid-concept.com/fr/pages/2006_acts_as_ferret_accentuated_chars).
By example, if the user search by "gonzalez" you can find documents taht
contents the term "gonz?lez" (gonzález)
The EuropeanAnalyzer is based on Ferret::Analysis::TokenFilter,

Ferret 0.10.13 released
Hi Folks,
I''ve just release Ferret 0.10.13 (skip 0.10.12, it was a bad build).
There are two interesting additions to this release. You can now
access the Filter#bits method of the built in filters so you can can
use them in your own code, possibly within your own custom filters.
For example you could implement a custom filter like so:
class MultiFilter < Hash

performance problem. big amount of net traffic for file properties
Hi,
We're having performance problems with some workstations (XP workstations).
The problem we diagnosed occurs when a user right clicks on a UNC link (on his
desktop). The popup window only appears after 80 seconds. On another XP
workstation (in the same room, same switch ...), it works OK.
We have dumped the network traffic from both these workstations, and the
result is that from the

install ferret on windows
Hi!
I''m trying to install ferret on windows, so I chose
ferret-0.10.9-mswin32.gem from the download page, as it includes a
already pre-compiled ferret_ext.so (is that correct?) and I don''t have
any C compiler here. The gem installed it correctly, but the test didn''t
work. So I called these commands:

bug resolve yet for export OCFS2 volume to NFS client ?
I found this from ocfs1.4 document:
g) NFS
OCFS2 volumes can be exported as NFS volumes. This support is limited to
NFS version 3, which translates to Linux kernel version 2.4 or later.
Users must mount the NFS volumes on the clients using the nordirplus
mount option. This disables the READDIRPLUS RPC call to workaround a bug
in NFSD, detailed in the following link:

VC6 Project Files
The VC6 .dsp and .dsw files included with the distro of the Vorbis source
has a few problems. Mostly, a few files are missing and cause unresolved
symbols when attempting to link to the resulting vorbis.lib. There also
exists a problem with linking to LIBC, that can cause multiply defined
symbols in an application that attempts to use vorbis.lib.
The attached .dsp and .dsw file fix these

VC6 Project file
The current VC6 project file is set to use the single-threaded C library
in Windows. This causes crashed when it hits the (temporary) fprintf's
in the library. Since using multithreaded libraries in a single
threaded program does no harm and will do away with these crashes in
multithreaded programs, I suggest that the VC6 file should be changed to
use the multi-threaded libs. I'm not a

Ferret DRB, UTF-8, Mongrel
I have spent days trying to figure out how to get UTF-8 working with my
site.
Here''s my environment:
Linux version 2.6.16.29-xen_3.0.3.0
Ruby 1.8.4 (2005-12-24 [i386-linux]
Rails 1.2.3
mongrel (1.0.1)
mongrel_cluster (1.0.2, 0.2.1)

acts_as_ferret stable plugin
Ferret DRB server
When I don''t use an analyzer with my acts_as_ferret declaration,

Disabling cirrus-vga
Hi xen developers,
Does any of you know how to disable the cirrus-vga emulation for hvm in xen?
I have been trying to disable that from the source codes, but even with
that, I still see a VGA controller when I boot up my guest domain. In
particular, I would like to do this because I am passing through a graphics
card to my guest domain using direct pass through.
Thanks,

[LLVMdev] diffs for vc7.1
Hi,
Has some one committed these patches into CVS?
Paolo, thanks for the patches. In the near future I'll try to compile them.
I've installed STLport 6.4.2 with vc6.

Help with installing Apache Solr with Dovecot 2.2
Dear Marc,
Thanks for your feedback!
1. I store it in MySQL.
2. I will add a cronjob to run Solr if I can figure out why its not working
on test runs. Maybe I might try to setup a cronjob for solr to avoid having
to manually start it everytime.
3. Will turn on the mail_debug in dovecot.conf . Where will it log the
problems?
Thanks
Kevin

How to regenerate passdb.tdb
Hi,
I was having problem with the tdbsam backend in which a particular user got
listed twice with pdbedit.
(http://www.mail-archive.com/samba at lists.samba.org/msg109110.html)
Without much hope in fixing it, I am planning to re-generating passdb.tdb on
my PDC by:
(1)exporting tdbsam to smbpasswd backend
(2)delete passdb.tdb
(3)re-import smbpasswd to tdbsam backend
With the command `

logistic regression and 3PL model
Hello colleagues,
I am a novice with R and am stuck with an analysis I am trying to conduct.
Any suggestions or feedback would be very much appreciated.
I am analyzing a data set of psi (ESP) ganzfeld trials. The response
variable is binary (correct/incorrect), with a 25% base rate. I've looked
around the documentation and other online resources and cannot find how I

I've built it using VC6, though I didn't use the project files in the
vorbis_vc6 subdirectory, so I can't comment on them. You should be building
the library as a static library, and not a DLL -- if you want to build the
library as a DLL,

MediaCtrl?
Hi.
First of all, thank you for your hard work - wxRuby (with wxSugar) is a
wonderful tool! I have been playing with it on and off for a year or so for
toy projects and really like it!
I need to play mediafiles (mostly mp3s) from within an application. In
wxwidgets (the c++) I can use wxMediaCtrl. As I understand it this class is
not implemented in wxRuby - right?
Is there a reason for this - is

Mystified by ActiveRecord.serialize
I''m either missing a step, confused or seeing some odd behavior with
ActiveRecord''s serialize feature. When I load an ActiveRecord object
from the database, my serialized attribute is a YAML::Object, not the
original object. My code is based on an example of this capability in
the "Agile Web Dev. w/ Rails" book (p. 196).
In create.sql:
