A new snapshot
Hi, I have released a new snapshot of GnuPG, I hope this is one of the last ones before 1.0.2 ;-) This is still a BETA VERSION and not intended for general use. ftp://ftp.gnupg.org/pub/gcrypt/devel/gnupg-1.0.1e.tar.gz (1600k) The usual diff file is also available, but this time there is only a detached signature for this diff file, because I noticed to late that the --not-dash-escaped option

dying network drive connections with Windows 2000 Pro/Samba 3.0.7
Hi I'm experiencing trouble with a Samba 3.0.7 installation and Windows 2000 Professional clients that lose their network drives after some time. The Samba server is acting as a Domain Controller for a single subnet with about 10 clients (W2k Pro with Service Pack 2-4). At some (random) time after the login the clients all have the same problem: the network drive mappings die (sometimes a

[Announce] Dirmngr 1.0.3 released
Hi! We are pleased to announce the availability of Dirmngr version 1.0.3. Dirmngr is a server for managing and downloading certificate revocation lists (CRLs) for X.509 certificates and for downloading the certificates themselves. Dirmngr also handles OCSP requests as an alternative to CRLs. Although Dirmngr can be invoked on demand, it should in general be installed as a system daemon. Get

R installation problems on Linux Mint 18.1 via jessie-cran3
Is there a reason for jessie-cran3 rather than xenial? For Linux Mint 18 (admittedly not 18.1) I have deb https://cloud.r-project.org/bin/linux/ubuntu xenial/ as one of the apt entries. Phantom (ghost) Calls with Wildcard TDM400P
We have a client that has a single Wildcard TDM400P with 3 FXO ports on Asterisk 1.0.7. Occasionally the system seems to loose its mind and starts originating calls from that Zap channels that don't exist. The receptionist picks up the phone and nobody is there. This can happen repeatedly over and over again within a few minutes. As far as we can tell these are definitely not real calls as

Interrupting voicemail with "*", dropping to "a" extension. Does it work?
I've played around with the lightly documented Asterisk voicemail feature whereby a caller can press "*" during the playback of the OGM and be returned to the "a" extension in the context of the voicemail box. No matter what, Asterisk does nothing when you press "*". It does not interrupt the OGM and it certainly does not return to the "a" context.

Okay folks, I give up and - frankly - I'm fed up! I thought I'd sorted all this last week, but clearly not. "gpg --verify-files" fails on some files, works on others
I have a very strange situation where the gpg command will fail to verify whether there is valid PGP data in some files. Decrypting these files works flawlessly. Here is an example: [root at server autoimport]# gpg -vv --verify-files 01UserEnumswValues.txt.asc.txt gpg: armor: BEGIN PGP MESSAGE gpg: armor header: Version: GnuPG v1.4.7 (MingW32) :pubkey enc packet: version 3, algo 16, keyid

[Announce] sha1sum for MS Windows released
Hi! In the light of the recently found weaknesses in the MD5 hash function we won't anymore accompany software announcements with MD5 checksums. Instead SHA-1 checksums will be given. All modern GNU/Linux systems are featuring a sha1sum tool, similar to the md5sum too, so this there should be no problem checking the checksums on these platforms. For MS Windows no such tool is available. To
