dom0 network interface intermittent
I have a server with dual etherports, eth0 and eth1. Before starting xend, I can connect to the server (dom0) on both IP''s. I have Xen configured so that it sets up the network-bridge on eth1; ie, in /etc/xen/xend-config.sxp: (network-script ''network-bridge netdev=eth1'') When I start xend, the bridge starts up on eth1, and then I can''t connect to that

Dom0 problems on Slackware 10.2
I''m running Xen 3.0.2 on a system that''s based on Slackware 10.2 as Dom0. DomU is also slackware 10.2. Am using the kernel that came with 3.0.2 - no custom config, just a "make world", etc.. Did have to add grub of course. When I start up xend, I get the following on /var/adm/messages: Apr 23 21:04:11 rc25 kernel: Bridge firewalling registered Apr 23 21:04:11 rc25

Re: Programatically checking if we''re in a domU or dom0
Thanks for your answers... But IMHO it''s hacky and error-prone to rely on the name of the host to determine if it''s a domU or a dom0 (or an unmodified kernel) :( I don''t like that much neither changing the name of the kernel :-/ I need to be able to determine, as a normal user (that is: non-root), if I''m running in a domU or not (I can already tell if

Bug#517863: Make logging of guest console output in dom0 via xenconsoled configurable
Package: xen-utils-3.2-1 Version: 3.2.1-2 Severity: wishlist Hi, this morning I spend some time to find out how to log console output of Xen guest domains into a file in dom0. I ended up using a quick 'n dirty solution: mario:/usr/lib/xen-3.2-1/bin 0-# diff -u xend.orig xend --- xend.orig 2009-03-02 16:49:49.000000000 +0100 +++ xend 2009-03-02 16:16:03.000000000 +0100 @@ -100,7 +100,8 @@

Using of bonded interfaces for xen dom0 (debian)
Hello, Where can I find a link (or docs) to *working* network config for xen 4.1.2? My tests (s. below) were not successful. Thank you in advance for any hints. Regards, Mark # --- root@xen411dom0:~# cat /etc/network/interfaces # Used by ifup(8) and ifdown(8). See the interfaces(5) manpage or # /usr/share/doc/ifupdown/examples for more information. auto lo iface lo inet loopback auto bond0

network failed on dom0
Hi, I setup xen from source code(version 3.0.2) on a Fedora 4 machine. After boot into dom0, eth0 is up and dmesg shows the link is up too. But eth0 fails to obtain a ip address from the DHCP server. This happens before the xend start.It works well on a normal kernel. Any ideas? Thank you. Best regards, JM Pan _______________________________________________ Xen-users mailing list

New DomU on older Dom0
Hi, I have a Xen server running OpenSuSE 10.2, with Xen version 3.0.3_11774. It''s happily hosting two DomU''s running the same OS / kernel. Now I tried to create a new DomU running a newer OS - OpenSuSE 11.1. It comes with Xen version 3.3.1_18494_03. Unfortunately for me, it doesn''t work - this is what I get: > xen1:/etc/xen/vm # xm create NEW > Using config file

dom0 eth0:0, eth0:1, eth0:2 network setup alias ips
I''ve got 3 different sets of public ips, each with it''s own static ips, and default gateways, and only one physical ethernet port. I''d like to be able to setup domUs that use the various ips, and route through the gateway for that particular IP. My problem is that when I setup these ip addresses as alias on eth:0, only one set of ips/netmask/gateway will work. any
