GoogleAds on wiki.centos.org
We need to maintain GoogleAds on wiki.centos.org ... so let's not ask
for them to be removed :D
However, what I think makes sense from a space perspective is this:
If we can move the search box down and stick it in the same place as the
"More Actions" drop down box, then maybe we can move the GoogleAds
down into the title bar beside the CentOS Logo.
I am also OK with a right

wiki.centos.org .. what's next ?
it's all in the title : what's next for wiki.centos.org ?
As a reminder, current wiki.centos.org instance is powered by moinmoin
(https://moinmo.in/) but quite an old version (moin-1.5.8-3.el6.noarch)
Recently I had a quick look at trying to update/upgrade that version to
something newer/supported, but it's a nightmare : the data conversion
just kill the target server (oom) and no

Wiki navibar Newsletter reference
Every wiki page contains a link to
http://wiki.centos.org/Newsletter/Latest in the navibar at the top and
bottom of the page. Currently that redirects to
http://wiki.centos.org/Newsletter/1005 which is the Newsletter dated
10 July 2010, hardly current news.
Perhaps someone can suggest a better communication vehicle to display
when the Newsletter link is selected? And change whatever master wiki

FreeBSD wiki offline for a bit
Hey,
Due to a security issue in the moinmoin wiki software, the FreeBSD
wiki will be offline for a bit. I do not yet know if the issue
actually has been exploited in the FreeBSD wiki (haven't had the time
yet to examine it), but I took the wiki down just in case.
Note that even if the software was compromised, it was considered
untrusted from the start and as such heavily sandboxed

Your changes were pushed. See:

To render Chinese rolling notes images I had to change the final

Artwork localization
Hi Alain,
The Chinese artwork looks good to me. I have no corrections to make.? If
you do add/remove strings from the PO files, can you give me an e-mail,
so that I can keep the translation in sync?? Thanks!

Timothy

Artwork localization
Hello everyone,
What do you think about having localized the following CentOS
components:
- Rolling notes in CentOS installer.
These images are shown during the installation process, once the
configuration is done and you are waiting for packages to be installed.
Rolling notes are a great place to promote CentOS. If they are not
localized, they are shown in English language by default.

Opening of the Wiki - Part I
Good News, everybody!
Maybe not yet, though :)
There are two things I'd like to get at with this mail.
a) This also has something to do with Ned's mails from yesterday - we
have two FAQs at the moment (on www.centos.org and on wiki.centos.org)
and we want to unify those, if possible on the wiki. The one feature the
www version has and the wiki one doesn't is comments - and we really

modern-CentOS-1.7-10
Hi guys,
We have now a redesign of the theme, based on fedora wiki theme. I
want to thank Dimitris Glezos for making it GPL.
The version 1.7-10 of the CentOS theme is available from:
http://wiki.centos.org/ArtWork/Wiki
Have you any suggestion ?
Cheers,

Syntax for ACLs?
Hey all,
Is there better documentation on setting up ACLs for the wiki than
what's here?
Thanks,

Watch out, 5.5 is coming!
Yes, it is that time of year again: The weather is cold and cloudy,
the sun doesn't show itself very often, so it must be CentOS release
time!
This time we'd like to offer CentOS 5.5 to the world - and the CentOS
Live CD, too.
So if you have a little time: the beginnings of the Release Notes can
be found under <http://wiki.centos.org/Manuals/ReleaseNotes/CentOS5.5>,

Featurerequest: LDAPgroups as groupOfUniqeNames
Hi,
This might be a featurerequest for 4.0, but I would be happy if it could
go into 3.1 or something.
I would be very happy if Samba could add the DNs of a user instead of
his/her uid to a sambaGroup, thus using the groupOfUniqe names
objectclass for administering groups.
This would make groups inline with the LDAP consept of groups and make
it possible to use them in ACLs etc.

wiki.centos.org .. what's next ?
Hello Fabien,
First, thank you for even trying for what seems to be an impossible task :(
Quick points :
- if it was decided not to continue, what would happen to the current wiki
? Dismantled or would it remain as read-only for documentation purpose ?
- What about Sphinx <http://www.sphinx-doc.org/en/stable/> ? seems to be
frequentely used nowadays
- As you mentioned, a solution of the

How to put always visible links on a multi-language wiki
In a multi-language way, if we put the main pages on the navigation
bar (navibar) which one we'll chose to put on?, Ex. If we want the
Documentation page be always visible to users, no matter where they
are on the wiki, we can put it on the navibar (as Ralph already
mentioned) to make it always accessible. So, in our new structure
(move English pages to en/, Spanish to es/, and so on) the
