Some questions: Release Notes CentOS 5.6
Hello A couple of days ago, I did the Spanish translation for ReleaseNotes CentOS 5.6 and I have some questions Right now, in the Spanish version we are using nice icons for "Notes". Would you like the same in the English and other translated versions ? (I know that is not important, just looks nice ;-) ) On many places we mention packages names or file names. I suggest use

Where is .xsession-errors
Hi Yesterday I was using OpenOffice Impress, doing many cut/paste operations with images, and without any notice/message/warning the application die. Then I look for ~/.xsession-errors file to see any signal about the problem, but I realized that ~/.xsession-errors is no longer present. This is a new behaviour of X.org ? I'm running CentOS 4 and XFree86 Version 4.3.0.1 (Debian

Ubuntu users, please upgrade to Ubuntu 8.04 Hardy for Wine 0.9.60 and later
To prevent conflicts when upgrading to 8.04, older releases will no longer be getting Wine updates. Ubuntu Hardy will be released this Thursday, and contains many fixes that also affect Wine, such as support for some missing libraries in the 64 bit version. By default, Ubuntu's update manager will disable third party repositories on upgrade, which will leave you with the Wine included in

Upsonic IRT1000 on Nut 2.2.1-2.1ubuntu7.2 (Ubuntu Hardy)
Hi all, I have a client who is currently using an UPSonic IRT1000 UPS (http://www.upsonic.com.au/industrial-rt.php), and is running NUT 2.2.1-2.1ubuntu7.2 on Ubuntu Hardy, which I've not been able to get to work using either USB or RS232. I *believe* the UPS is supposed to use the Megatec driver, but am not 100% sure. I can see three possible resolutions to my problem, which leads me to

Some install package fixes for Ubuntu Hardy
I encountered some failures in using install.packages() to install rgl and rJava in some of my (multiple) Ubuntu Hardy systems. A quick search of the 'Net did not show any debian packages for these. The install.packages messages said header or other files were missing, suggesting path and related woes. Email with Duncan Murdoch (thanks!) pointed the way with rgl and led to a fix for rJava

RedHat Bugzilla
Does anyone here have access to the RedHat Bugzilla bug number 113233? https://bugzilla.redhat.com/bugzilla/show_bug.cgi?id=113233 I get "You are not authorized to access bug #113233." which kind of makes it hard to know what they think they have fixed. version problems of rkward in ubuntu hardy repository
Hi I tried to install rkward under ubuntu hardy heron, but it tried to use the one from the cran repository which was newer, but it did not install. To be able to install rkward, I had to disable the cran repository, install rkward, lock it's version and enable the repository again. I have the feeling, that the dependencies are not correct (it is looking for libqt4GUI, but I have a

Strange sound problems on Hardy
I am having a strange sound issue that affects all apps on Wine. I am using Ubuntu 8.04 and have a Creative Sound Blaster Live! 24-bit. Wine version 1.0rc3 is configured to use the ALSA driver. DirectSound hardware acceleration has been enabled a long time before using Hardy and has never caused any problems until now. Regularly the sound of a game/application completely drops until the

Accents in R
Hi, How can I include accents and signs like '?' '?' in the plots generated by R? I try, but R automatically transforms the name ex: > countries <- c("M?xico", "Espa?a") > countries [1] "M\216?xico" "Espa\216?a" > I've seen in some Spanish texts about R how is it normal to include labels of the plots and other names with

Ubuntu Hardy + Wine + WoW = corrupted graphics
Hello all, I've got a laptop w/ an "Intel Corporation Mobile 945GM/GMS, 943/940GML" graphics card (I know, Intel sucks) running Ubuntu Hardy and Wine 0.9.61~winehq0~ubuntu~8.04-1. I've had problems getting World of Warcraft to run under wine before, so when I upgraded to Hardy I thought I would try it again. At least in the past I could run WoW using the built-in d3d

Hardy Weinberg Case Control Test in gap R package
Hi, I am using the gap R package to do the Hardy Weinberg Case Control test for many SNP. I am not sure what the values initial1 and initial2 should be for the test. I tried values but they failed. I emailed the author but to no avail. There seems to be some documentation that is deleted at the top, if anyone can direct me how to get this I will be grateful. -- Thanks, Jim. [[alternative HTML
