Request for Wiki edit permission - booting into kickstart from all-in-one USB flash drive
I'm currently testing a process very similar to that found here: http://wiki.centos.org/HowTos/InstallFromUSBkey And would like to update that doc with my observations once confirmed. Preliminary notes (not all relevant to that specific WikiPage - suggestions for where to put the non-kickstart info? First boot partition on USB is FAT32 and uses GRUB to chainload to the second ext2

Editing HowTos/InstallFromUSBkey
I'd like to ask for permission to edit HowTos/InstallFromUSBkey. There was a recent forum thread on using Windows tools to create an installation USB (https://www.centos.org/modules/newbb/viewtopic.php?viewmode=flat&topic_id=44268&forum=55). I'd tried some suggested tools; see post no 20 in the thread. I'd like to edit the Wiki to reflect my results. Yves -- Yves

Correction to HowTos/InstallFromUSBkey
There's a mistake in HowTos/InstallFromUSBkey , so I'd like to ask that someone fix it, or that I be given editing rights. The mistake is that in the section on CentOS 6, step 8, the correct command is "syslinux /dev/sdb1" (only). Also, although this isn't a mistake, I'd like to suggest mentioning in step 1 that the reason why part of the USB key has to be formatted

http://wiki.centos.org/HowTos/JavaRuntimeEnvironment Did not make it DRAFT as it has evolved from old pages, has been well tested, and is near perfect. :-) Constructive criticism is, as usual, solicited and welcomed. Phil

HowTos/MigrationGuide
Please (particularly Smooge) review and comment on the new content at http://wiki.centos.org/HowTos/MigrationGuide Based heavily on the pieces I added earlier to http://wiki.centos.org/Migration/5 Tried to keep it general. Would assume that we want only one page on Migration with sub-pages for specific versions. I referred to the CentOS 3 FAQ entry on WBEL migration but it would seem to be

Installing from USB
I found this http://wiki.centos.org/HowTos/InstallFromUSBkey So for centos 7 if did the dd command seemed to work great. I did the install. So now I'd like to "modify" the USB key to add a boot menu option with my customer install options. I mounted /dev/sdb2 and edited the file /mnt/usb/EFI/BOOT/grub.conf added my menu item and rebooted to try to use it. It does not show up in

CentOS on the Aspire One
The Aspire One is one of those netbooks that have become so popular recently. I've installed CentOS on the hard drive model, and have been considering doing a wiki article about it, and probably will unless there are strenuous objections. The objections might come from the fact that outside drivers are required for wireless, webcam, sound, and even wired ethernet. I have an article on my

Can't get ipw2200 to work in CentOS 5 on Dell laptop
I've installed ipw2200-firmware-3.0-3.nodist.rf from RPMForge using yum OK. I've loaded the ipw modules with /sbin/modprobe ipw2200 and then /sbin/lsmod | grep ipw which gives: ipw2200 136873 0 ieee80211 33417 1 ipw2200 However, when I run system-config-network I don't see Intel Coporation PRO/Wireless 2200BG (eth1) in the list of adapters. How to upgrade WBEL4 to CentOS4?
Hi, I've got a couple of servers that are running WBEL4 that I would like to upgrade to CentOS4. I noticed that there is a FAQ which explains how to upgrade WBEL3 to CentOS3, but haven't found anything similar for WBEL4. Are the instructions for the WBEL3 upgrade the same for WBEL4? Should I be doing something else instead? Any help would be greatly appreciated. Thanks, Eric
