Hi, everybody. I notice debian packages for Ubuntu on CRAN are missing "libRblas.so" and I'm trying to find out why. Why do I care? We are working in an hpc project in a CentOS Linux cluster. That led me to the question of "which BLAS is fastest?" Dirk E referred me this morning to the R admin manual. The standard R compilation creates a shared blas library libRblas.so

Hi, We have created a cox regression model (coxph) and exported from R as PMML using the Rattle package. The resulting PMML is a standard Regression model in the format y=b1*x1+b2*x2+??.bn*xn: risk= (0.027968680616809*dropped_Calls)+(0.00777220409115466*helpdesk_Calls) The PMML is included at the end of this post. I needed to upgrade to R 2.4.1 from debian stable maintained at http://cran.r-project.org/bin/linux/debian/. and tried to upgrade with apt-get install r-base. It installed R 2.4.1 successfully, but ran into errors while also upgrading r-recommended packages. I was able to fix that using apt-get install -f euclid:~# aptitude install r-base Reading Package Lists... Done Building Dependency

After a hiccup or two with Samba not wanting to restart, I opted to look for a pid/lock file and found none. Tried to correct by restarting the server and had no success with samba restarting. There are no errors in smbd.log I did apt-get upgrade. No help I did apt-get remove samba, samba and swat went away. I did note that the XXXX pid was not found during install when samba was to be killed.

PMML is the Predictive Modelling Markup Language, and is accepted by a number of large database and data warehouse systems (IBM DB2 and NCR Teradata) for deployment of models as SQL.
