ActionMailer Question -- can''t find email templates
I have a PageController that displays a form. The form is just
straight HTML, I only used the form helpers for the form tag as so:
--
<%= form_tag({:action => :send_request}, {:method=>:post,
:name=>''childsplay''})%>
--
In my page controller I have this:
--
def send_request
email = InfoMailer::deliver_sendrequest(params)
end

specs for ActionMailer
Hi,
Email notifications are an important part of my app and I would like
to spec them. Here''s what I have going so far. It seems to work. I''d
appreciate comments/suggestions.
Rails script/generate mailer produces tests for the email contents
etc. I''ve started by manually converting the generated unit tests to
rspec, and then changing/adding examples as I

Where to recruit Ruby on Rails developers?
Anyone have suggestions on where to recruit Ruby on Rails developers?
My startup''s in Berkeley, CA and I''m looking for a talented technical
lead. I''ve tried LinkedIn and Craigslist but the pickings are slim. This
project provides an opportunity to use OpenLaszlo.

LinkedIn still not working?
To clarify the issue I posted earlier:
I am on OS X 10.6.7. Trying to use Mechanize to log in to LinkedIn. As others have posted about in the past, when I submit the form it kicks me back to the LinkedIn landing page, and does not log me in.
I read the earlier discussion of the issue that mentioned how cookie values were being improperly dequoted when stored. But I thought that issue was fixed.

ActionMailer with attachments, body is blank
I am trying to use the Rails Recipe for sending emails with
attachments. However, when I add an attachment, my body fails to
render. The resulting email has the attachment, but is blank otherwise.
In the book, it mentions that this is "broken" in rails 1.0 and to
upgrade to a newer version or edge rails. Well, I am running on 1.1.2
and it''s still happening. When I look

What does EOFError mean in ActionMailer?
I''m trying to implement a user verification phase in my user
registration controller.
So I do something like this from within my controller:
Notifications.deliver_verification(@user)
The method in the mailer object looks like this:
def verification(user,sent_at = Time.now)
@subject = ''Welcome to XXX''
@body = {}
@recipients = user.email

Problem with implicit multipart emails using ActionMailer in Rails 2.3.3
With earlier versions of Rails ActionMailer used to implicitly send
multipart (text/plain and text/html) email messages for me, but it
looks like now it''s sending two text/plain parts.
Simplified details:
Here''s my model:
class Notifications < ActionMailer::Base
def confirmation(sent_at = Time.now)
@subject = ''Thank you for registering''
@body

No rhtml, rxml, rjs... problem with Action Mailer, again
Hi all
I have seen a lot of people writing my same problem but I haven''t found
the solution yet. This is the problem:
"ActionView::ActionViewError in Periodico#index
No rhtml, rxml, rjs or delegate template found for..."
when trying to send email through action mailer.
I have created the Notifier.rb model (in app/models/ folder)
def signupthanks(user)

ActiveMailer HTML + Plain Text + Attachment?
How do you do this?
Tried all the examples on the wiki, and unfortunately the trac is not
accessible right now to check the trouble tickets.
No matter what I do the mime structure seems to be incorrect.
It seems that adding an attachment to a html+plaintext message is not
possible using the standard methods. I have seen some old posting on the
mailing list about overriding the deliver method

Need help in passing parameters to a background job method
<backgroundrb-devel at rubyforge.org>I am trying to send email as a background

The goal is that when I go to http://mysite.com/foo/bar, the background job
kicks in and sends an email out. The relevant code snippets are below.
This errors out with a wrong number of arguments passed (2 for 1) message. I

rxml vs rhtml
I have been wondering if anyone here knows which format is faster for
your templates? I am curious cause in the near future I may be using
some expensive scripts (timewise) and would like to try and squeak out
as much performance as possible. Is Ruby like other languages (ASP
classic for example) that inccur a penalty by switching between HTML and
Ruby Code?

problems with ActionMailer
Hi all,
I''m trying to create a worker to send a mail to all the users in my
db. Right now I''m doing the tests, this is the code in my worker
(Masivo is the ActionMailer subclass):
def do_work(args)
@progress = 0
@logger.info("MAILER: starting job")
records = Record.find(:all)
total = records.size
records.each_with_index do |record, idx|

Why is my rxml view being wrapped by the rhtml template in views/layouts?
Why is my rxml view being wrapped by the rhtml template in views/
layouts?
I was experimenting with REST, I had a nice little test program with
one table: ''resources''. Here''s what the show method looks like:
def show
@resource = Resource.find(params[:id])
respond_to do |accepts|
accepts.html
accepts.xml
end
end

Is it possible to render RXML partials in RHTML templates?
I have a RHTML template and I would like the output of a RXML partial to
be embedded within it.
When I do <%= render(:partial => ''list_edit'') %> where there exists a
_list_edit.rmxl file, I get XML parsing errors in the browser - I
believe because the partial is causing the rendered content to be
identified as XML instead of HTML.
Is there any way to

How to select between RXML and RHTML template at runtime ?
Hi !
I have some actions which I'd like to serve using XML instead of HTML.
I have two action templates: action.rhtml and action.rxml. If I do
render :action => 'action', ActionPack automatically selects the RHTML
template.
Is there a programmatic way of selecting which template I'd like to use ?
Thanks !

ActionMailer tmail/quoting.rb problem
Hi,
Why did you allow this incompatibility? ;)
* fixtures/notifications/signup:
_foo
@expected.body = read_fixture(''signup'')
p @expected.body
#=> " foo\n"
# because text.gsub(/_/," ")
If you enhance TMail::Mail#body like this,
I want you to convert mail.body code in render_body.
My mailer code now:
