On Ubuntu, that probably means

LXC + USB passthrough = Operation not permitted
Hi! First post, kind of a noobie. I've been working with LXC and libvirt for a few months now. Trying to do some interesting things with containers and Android devices :D I'm running ubuntu 13.10 with LXC 1.0.1 and tried both libvirt 1.1.1 and 1.2.2 (backported from ubuntu-trusty), but with either version of libvirt am getting issues as soon as I try to get access to USB devices inside

I tried to run d2 to make sure its working up to this point before I continue to install lod. I get an error that goes like this: Error 25: A critical error has occurred while initializing Direct3D. I thought wine didn't support direct3D and that was why I was

Wine installed... but not?
Hey, I've got a Ubuntu 11.10 system I use as my home server. I installed wine on it a little while ago and everything was working great, I was using it to run Air Video Server. At some point when I was installing new display drivers to enable GPU acceleration in XBMC Air Video Server stopped loading on boot. When I tried to fix it, I found that the system was acting like wine was not

Low Framerate in Oblivion
I've been getting max 10 FPS in Oblivion, even with extremely low graphics settings. Any ideas why? I didn't have any problems with running Oblivion on Windows, and even for Wine this seems quite low. I think it might be my graphics card drivers possibly. OS: Ubuntu 9.10 Karmic GPU: nVidia 8600M GT CPU: Intel Core 2 Duo @ 2 GHz GPU Driver: Version 195 (I got it by going System ->

Some install package fixes for Ubuntu Hardy
I encountered some failures in using install.packages() to install rgl and rJava in some of my (multiple) Ubuntu Hardy systems. A quick search of the 'Net did not show any debian packages for these. The install.packages messages said header or other files were missing, suggesting path and related woes. Email with Duncan Murdoch (thanks!) pointed the way with rgl and led to a fix for rJava

problems with rgl in Ubuntu 'gutsy'
Dear R users/gurus, I have recently installed Ubuntu 7.10 (Gutsy) on my Dell Latitude D520. First time for me, as I have always used Fedora. R installation using "apt" has proceeded fine, both for r-base and r-base-dev. Next, I need to install various other packages, "rgl" being first in the line. I have sorted some preliminaries by installing headers for X11 and Mesa: sudo

Thank you for your work on rgl. Reading in another thread about your new (inofficial) version of rgl (see below) I tried it with R version 2.5.0 alpha (2007-03-31 r40986) under FreeBSD 7.0-CURRENT. Pegasus Mail - runs slow - tuning wine?
PMail 4.6 does function okay, but slowly. it's most apparent when looking at a "lazy html" auto sent message. the icon buttons all seem to re-set themselves in sequence, not dissimilar to my old pc with the winxp desktop items gradually appearing, due to lack of mem. The pc is 64bit AMD C-50 3Gb ddr3 PM flies along in win7, but not in ubuntu 64bit 11.04, wine 1.2.3-0ubuntu1~ppa1

Streets of SimCity under Wine - "No PCI Bus detected."
Hi! I'm trying to get the Win 95 game "Streets of SimCity" to run under Linux, and have come across an error message that I don't understand. Wondering if anyone can point me towards a possible cause! The game is 3D graphical, and I've just switched in the nVidia driver (previously, while using Nouveau, I got other errors such as that OpenGL was not installed properly).
