ferret / hyperestraier indexing time
since i cant manage to get the accelerated ferret going (amd64 incompatible C code) and hyperestraier returns 0 results for everything after a reboot (despite claiming its index is every bit as big as before) i made a simple rails inverted index that essentially just does a find_or_create_by_word for each word, and then adds its id to a join table linking words and documents.. the only

Order By Number of Comments
Hi, I am new to Ruby on Rails, so I apologise if this has been answered elsewhere. I have had a look through the list but I can''t seem to find what I am trying to do. I have implemented the standard blog and comments app from the screencast. However I am trying to extend the functionality. I want to be able to display a list of posts and order them by the total number of comments

Seymore - Content Management On Rails
I have just open sourced my Content Management System called Seymore. Rather than having a separate administration section for managing content, content management functions are available throughout the site so users are able to contextually and comfortably manage the content. I am looking for any and all feedback. Please, either checkout the latest source from subversion, grab version 0.1 from

Chinese language R email list?
A colleague from China is visiting our lab is working with us on some R-based remote sensing projects, and he was curious if there is a r-help listserv in Chinese and, if not, if it would be possible to set one up? I didn't see one listed on the Mailing List page on the cran-r website. Thanks! --j

[PATCH v2 65/86] drm/amdgpu: Run DRM default client setup
Call drm_client_setup() to run the kernel's default client setup for DRM. Set fbdev_probe in struct drm_driver, so that the client setup can start the common fbdev client. The amdgpu driver specifies a preferred color mode depending on the available video memory, with a default of 32. Adapt this for the new client interface. v2: - style changes Signed-off-by: Thomas Zimmermann

Calling a method in another controller
Hi, I have three controllers. I have defined two controllers to goven the site functions. However I want to have a homepage Controller. Part of the controller will call methods from other controllers. For example it will get the last 5 blog posts and it will get the top 5 most discussed articles, and display it on the homepage. I will also have some specific homepage modules being

Potential missed optimisation with SEH funclets
I’ve been experimenting with SEH handling in LLVM, and it seems like the unwind funclets generated by LLVM are much larger than those generated by Microsoft’s CL compiler. I used the following code as a test: void test() { MyClass x; externalFunction(); } Compiling with CL, the unwind funclet that destroys ‘x’ is just two lines of asm: lea rcx, QWORD PTR x$[rdx] jmp ??1MyClass@@QEAA at XZ

Benchmark - Thanks Dave for making this gnawer this FAST!!
Hi List, I''ve took some time and made some tests on the performance of java-lucene, hyperestraier and ferret as Dave encourages the community of ferret to do so. Quite intersting numbers. Ferret indeed deserves to be called a high-performance port!! It''s MyFirstBenchmark ( http://ferret.davebalmain.com/trac/wiki/MyFirstBenchmark ) so please don''t be too cruel on

Unexpected timeout in rsync
Hi I am having trouble with intermittent timeouts when backing up a largish set of files from /usr using rsync. Approx 125,000 files, 2GB. Backup is to same machine, from a partition on hda to one on hdb. I am using ribs 2.1 (slightly modified to ignore rsync error 23), run with nice -n 5 via cron. (for ribs visit http://rustyparts.com/phpBB/viewforum.php?f=9 ) Typical error report is:

Ferret::StateError while using acts_as_ferret
I''m fairly new to ferret / aaf and finding it much easier to use than HyperEstraier (which I migrated from). However, I am getting a few errors and I need to figure out if they''re problems with my usage of ferret or a bug I should report. I''m currently running Ferret 0.10.11 with acts_as_ferret (latest via svn external) and 3 times today I''ve seen the

Is Ferret the standard rails search engine? I''m looking to search the file system and MySQL. TextSearch is working fine for MySQL. http://wiki.rubyonrails.org/rails/pages/TextSearch Is Ferret the solution that most people are using for documents in the file system? Thanks. Static pages
I have lot of static pages in my applications (FAQs, Contacts, Privacy etc..) What is the best way to handle (deploy) these pages in my application. I am using Apache with fastcgi. I would like to deliver the static pages from the apache itself. Basically how the deployment is done? The catch is the user should be easily navigate between the static and dynamic contents. thanks thila --
