Dear all, The below is my steps to setup RedHat/CentOS domU on OpenSolaris with ISO image.Although there are some guides to describe how to install Linux on domU,but their install media are from http or OpenSuSe image. ZFS panic while mounting lofi device?
I believe ZFS is causing a panic whenever I attempt to mount an iso image (SXCR build 39) that happens to reside on a ZFS file system. The problem is 100% reproducible. I''m quite new to OpenSolaris, so I may be incorrect in saying it''s ZFS'' fault. Also, let me know if you need any additional information or debug output to help diagnose things. lofiadm -d keeps a lock on file in an nbmand-mounted zfs
Hi, Has anyone seen the following problem? After "lofiadm -d" removes an association, the file is still locked and cannot be moved or deleted if the file resides in a ZFS mounted with nbmand=on. There are two ways to remove the lock. (1) remount the zfs by the unmount+mount; the lock is removed even if nbmand=on option is given again, or (2) reboot the system. I don''t have

Read-only (forensic) mounts of ZFS
Hi Sorry for the cross-posting, I''d sent this to zfs-code originally. Wrong forum. I''m looking into forensic aspects of ZFS, in particular ways to use ZFS tools to investigate ZFS file systems without writing to the pools. I''m working on a test suite of file system images within VTOC partitions. At the moment, these only have 1 file system per pool per VTOC

ZFS and UFS performance
We are running Solaris 10 11/06 on a Sun V240 with 2 CPUS and 8 GB of memory. This V240 is attached to a 3510 FC that has 12 x 300 GB disks. The 3510 is configured as HW RAID 5 with 10 disks and 2 spares and it''s exported to the V240 as a single LUN. We create iso images of our product in the following way (high-level): # mkfile 3g /isoimages/myiso # lofiadm -a /isoimages/myiso

mtext with at=NULL
Hello, in the help of mtext I found "at: If ?length(at)==0? (the default), the location will be determined by ?adj?" But if I use mtext( "hello world", at=NULL) there comes the following error message: Fehler in mtext("hallo Welt", side = 3, adj = NA, at = NULL) : 'at' mit L?nge 0 angegeben So the help says it is ok to use at with length(at) == 0 but if

xVM least privilege: please review
See the PSARC case for rationale: http://www.opensolaris.org/jive/thread.jspa?threadID=58816&tstart=30 Review notes: If you haven''t reviewed xVM changes before it''s a bit confusing. Basically the dirs ending in .hg/ are normal webrevs. The ones with other names are webrevs of a particular MQ patch added on top (for virt-install and xen repos).

Code review for stopper: 7315 xVM VNC service doesn''t work
http://cr.opensolaris.org/~johnlev/xvm-vnc-chown/ Now Xvnc runs as the ''jack'' user on the live CD, the password file must be owned by jack for it to work. Note that a full fix for this would make this VNC service only exist on the live CD[1]. As a temporary measure, we just disable ourselves post-install. Process question: after putting back to pkg-gate, does this need
