mac: lib/gtk.pkg
Hello,
I'm sorry to just pop-up on the mailing list like this and ask a relatively non-R related question but I had no idea whom else to contact on this matter.
I'm working on a completely different port of an application to OS X which requires GTK and through Google'ing stumbled on a rather recent GTK installer for Mac at: http://r.research.att.com/
I was wondering if anyone here

VuXML and FreeBSD
Hello All,
I'd like to bring to your attention the Vulnerabilities and eXposures
Markup Language (VuXML) and associated resources.
VuXML is a markup language designed for the documentation of security
issues within a single package collection. Since about February
of this year, we have been diligently documenting vulnerabilities
in FreeBSD and the FreeBSD Ports Collection using VuXML. The

epoll_ctl: Operation not permitted
Hi,
I am using wine-0.9.30 (self compiled) on a Debian 3.1 server. Wine is
required for CUI-applications, so no X-Server is running.
When I log in via ssh and start the application, wine is working
fine.
But whenever I try it from the webserver via php-script, wine doesn't
start properly. It fills the errout with "epoll_ctl: Operation not
permitted" unitl I send a SIGKILL to the

Should there be a PassInfo for register allocation in Pass.h?

VuXML.org improvements
Hello Everyone,
I have made a few small changes to the VuXML.org web sites,
http://www.vuxml.org/freebsd/ (aka vuxml.freebsd.org)
and http://www.vuxml.org/openbsd/
- Date-oriented indices (e.g. entry date index) visually group entries
from the same date.
- The package name index is more useful, listing individual package names.
- Each package referenced in VuXML now has its own index

Troubleshooting with "gpd" (Fit generalized pareto model)
Up to now, I have recognized problems with "gpd(..)", the function from
the package "evir"
I think that all these functions that estimate the parameters xi, beta for
the GPD
by given threshold mu use the function "optim(..)" ( gpd, fitgpd, ...)
"Error" example:
data1 <- rgpd(1000, xi= -1.5, mu=1000, beta=100)
so the created poinnts take place in about

Choo choo here comes the FOSDEM train
Hi everyone,
It's not exactly a secret that FOSDEM will be taking place during the first
weekend of February at the usual location, the ULB Solbosch campus in
Brussels. It's also not that big of a secret that a lot of Puppeteers
attend especially now that we have a Configuration Management room.
However, it usually is a secret who will be there and that more difficult
to get in touch

introducing puppetboard 0.0.1
Hello everyone,
It’s a lovely grey and rainy day here in the Dutch summer, as good a day as
any to release a new little project.
Its name is Puppetboard and has as aim to replace Puppet Dashboard’s
reporting functionality. It does not nor will it include ENC features. It
does all this without storing any data itself but querying PuppetDB instead.
The whole thing is built in Python and

hooking NewRelic into Puppet agent
Hello everyone,
I''m trying to hook NewRelic into the Puppet agent. Why? Because I''m pretty
positive at this point that the metrics Dashboard reports are not accurate
/ incomplete and I can''t really split out those metrics in stuff like
''which commands take too long'' or ''how long am I waiting on the network''
and so forth.

unclean file system
Hey everyone,
Thanks for the quick help resonses once again,
We got some mail saying that RAM disks were not the way to go. So we
re-installed, made several partitions to use, and rebuilt xen. However,
we''re still having trouble mounting partitions when xeno-linux boots.
We give a physical grant of one of our newly made paritions (/dev/hda14 in
particular) to the domain. But when

FYI: new port security/portaudit-db
Dear porters and port users,
I've added a new port security/portaudit-db that complements
security/portaudit for users
that have a current ports tree and want to generate the portaudit
database themselves,
possibly distributing it over their local network. This will save you
the traffic downloading
information that is already on your local machine and avoid the lag that
is currently
