Problem with Notepad ++
If you are saying other programs are saying this as well it could be your
windows system got corrupted and is not reporting mtime correctly to
underlying programs. Try on a fresh install of windows or some other
computer to be sure.

Problem with Notepad ++
If your file is unchanged and the modified time is unchange in both ls -l
and the Windows file browser and notepad++ saw a change then the problem is
with notepad++ not in samba or linux.

Brown-Forsythe test of equality of MEANS
Dear friends,
two years ago (as I found on the web) Paul sent the following message but I was not able to find if he got an answer. Today I have the same question and it would be great if I could find out that this test has been implemented (somehow) in R. Please do not confuse it with the Brown-Forsythe test of equality of variances. Thank you:

Does oneway.test do what you want?
Hope this helps,

Brown-Forsythe F* Statistic
I've been searching around for a function for computing the
Brown-Forsythe F* statistic which is a substitute for the normal ANOVA
F statistic for when there are unequal variances, and when there is
evidence of non-normality. A couple of other people have asked this
question, the responses I found have been:
?oneway.test
However, that function appears to use the Welch W statistic which,

Brown-Forsythe Test
Hi,
do anyone know which statistical software have the Brown-Forsythe Test for
differences of numerical continue data groups wich variance heterogenity?
not ofr evaluate the homogenity of variances, for evaluated the differences
between groups as ANOVA.
thanks

Logging of RSA/DSA key used?
Hi folks,
I am sitting with a requirement to configure an account for shared use, with
access via SSH, and RSA/DSA keys.
What I would like to do, and I know it is not foolproof, is log the key
presented in order to log on, for audit purposes.
The intention is that each user has their own key pair, and the public keys
are all stored on the server, as expected. When the key presented is
accepted,

Heterogeneous variance in two-way mixed ANOVA
I have heterogeneous variance in a two-way mixed effects ANOVA, with more than 2 groups in each factor. Is there something like oneway.test or a Brown-Forsythe test that will let me test for differences in means?
Thanks!

DO NOT REPLY [Bug 2294] Detect renamed files and handle by renaming instead of delete/re-send

Hi, I was about to enter a similar suggestion to this. My very frequent use
case is moving files from one directory to another. In that situation the file
name does not change--just the directory path leading to it. These are often
quite large files (0.2 to

[Fwd: Re: File formats (RE: MP4 Player Available for Download)]
I recall reading that all MPEG AAC software has different and
incompatible file formats , because this is a condition set by
the MPEG AAC technology licensing authority.
Some kind of yet-another-anti-piracy-measure, the idea probably
being that users of different software can not swap their files.
I picked up this a while ago when following AAC software development,
but can't remember exactly

Simple Questions
Hi, I'm just starting out on R. I have an example data frame listed below.
I have regressed Y on X1. lm(Y~X1). Would like to obtain the Brown-Forsythe
test on residuals.
I am unsure of how to conduct the following steps.
(1) Inputting the residuals from regression into the data frame.
(2) Splitting the groups above (X11) and below mean of X1 (X12) in the data
frame.
(3) Calculating the sum

DirectShow PushSource with theora encoder and Ogg muxer filters
Hi all,
I am trying to test DirectShow PushSource example from the SDK with
Theora encoder and Ogg muxer (DirectShow filters of course) by using
GraphEdit tool. My goal is capturing the screen as video by taking
snaphot bitmaps continuosly (what PushSource eaxmple does) and giving
them to the Theora encoder through the DS pipeline (next goal is
transmitting this video **).
My DirectShow graph is

Homogeneity of variance tests between more than 2 samples (long)
Dear all
a couple of months ago i've found threads regard test that verify AnOVa
assumption on homogeneity of variances. Prof. Ripley advice LDA / QDA
procedures, many books (and many proprietary programs) advice Hartley's F_max,
Cochran's minimum/maximum variance ratio (only balanced experiments), K^2
Bartlett's test, Levene's test.
