[PATCH 04/11] x86: cleanup mpparse.c
Remove unused and pointless bits from mpparse.c (and other files where they are related to it). Of what remains, move whatever possible into .init.*, and some data items into .data.read_mostly. [PATCH] limit ACPIID to APICID reset to AMD machines
Testing by Red Hat show that changeset:0034d9389130 causes regressions on Intel machines that don''t use APIC ID lifting but that do have a strange ACPI to APIC numbering. Modify the patch so that it only applies to AMD machines. -Mark Langsdorf Operating System Research Center AMD Signed-off-by: Mark Langsdorf <mark.langsdorf@amd.com> diff -r 49ffe9ef67d4

Changes at Red Hat confouding CentOS (was: What happened to 6.1)
These seems to me to be the first message in the series and provides a really good summary of the changes at Red Hat which seem to be making life a lot more difficult for CentOS. Just figured I'd pull it out of that thread and change the subject line. Below Johnny's email I've copied another from the original thread, written by Lamar Owen, which gives some good explanation on how Red

[PATCH] x86: allow Dom0 read-only access to IO-APICs
There are BIOSes that want to map the IO-APIC MMIO region from some ACPI method(s), and there is at least one BIOS flavor that wants to use this mapping to clear an RTE''s mask bit. While we can''t allow the latter, we can permit reads and simply drop write attempts, leveraging the already existing infrastructure introduced for dealing with AMD IOMMUs'' representation as

This morning I'm seeing 4 new sanitizer failures in SanitizerCommon-Unit (compared to a couple of days ago, when I didn't see these) - perhaps related to recent library refactoring? I compiled and installed libguestfs-1.8.4. Running libguestfs-test-tool fails with the following output. More libshout questions
Okay, I am using libshout to stream to a NullSoft Shoutcast server. I am using libmad and libmp3lame to do re-encoding on the fly. I am streaming to the server (currently) with shout_send_raw(). When I try to use shout_metadata_add(), I get a segfault in strdup(). Anyone have any ideas as to why? Everything else works fine, just not the metadata. Thanks In Advance, Deven --- >8 ----
