[HOWTO] Running Xen 4.0 host (dom0) with Redhat Enterprise Linux 6 (RHEL6)
Hello,
If you''re interested in running Xen 4.0 hypervisor/dom0 on RHEL6,
take a look at here: http://wiki.xen.org/xenwiki/RHEL6Xen4Tutorial
It explains steps needed to rebuild Xen 4.0.1 src.rpm from Fedora on RHEL6,
and how to fetch dom0 capable 2.6.32.x kernel from upstream git repository.
It also shows how to get libvirt/virt-manager working with Xen on RHEL6.
Hopefully it helps :)

Re: Remove Virtual bridge and DNSMASQ
HI Michal
Thank you for explaining. I have this situation in a number of production
servers where we would always use static IPs for the host and VMs. In such
case we have no requirement for NATed network in the future. And we we
ever do, we can rely on a DHCP server within the LAN to provide IPs to the
VMs.
I'll look to remove both libivirt-daemon-driver-network,

How to disable dnsmasq from starting automatically with libvirtd
Hi.
I have a machine with a local DHCP server and a couple of virtual networks and
I've configured the server for each virtual interface, so that I would be able
to install VMs on the corresponding subnets using PXE.
The problem is that the two DHCP servers (my local server and dnsmasq) are
conflicting with each other causing the boot process to either fails or takes
ages untill a VM can

dhcpd (via systemd) @boottime which does not wait for the interface..
hi users
I have my dhcpd to serve nothing but virbr0 (libvirt), OS is Centos 7.2
Dhcpd would not start, complaining like this:
No subnet declaration for virbr0 (no IPv4 addresses).
** Ignoring requests on virbr0. If this is not what
you want, please write a subnet declaration
in your dhcpd.conf file for the network segment
to which interface virbr0 is attached. **

CentOS 6 + XEN problem
Hi,
Does anyone know what version of XEN works fine with CentOS 6?
I installed XEN on a CentOS 6 server, as per these instructions:
http://www.crc.id.au/xen-on-rhel6-scientific-linux-6-centos-6-howto/
And the server now gives this error on reboot: PANIC: early exception
0e rip 10:0 error 10 cr2 0
These are the packages that was installed:

unable to ping from guests in virbr0 to guests in virbr1 network
Hi all,
I have 3 guests (2-RHEL4 and 1 RHEL6) and have some issues regarding
networking between them. The 2 RHEL4 system's use default bridge virbr0 and
get ip's of range 192.168.122.0/24 (192.168.122.207, 192.168.122.167)
I created another bridge (virbr1) with NAT forwarding (no dhcp). The
network i choose was 192.168.100.0/24. And the third system (RHEL6) was
assigned static ip-addres

Network inoperable with QEMU arm example image
I am running Fedora 16 64bit and installed libvirt. I have the VM
running with arm emulation with this one issue I can't figure out. I
used Virtual Machine Manager to manage the VM and can access its console
there. The Ethernet appears to be eth1 and the guest can set an IP on
it etc. However, I cannot see any traffic from the Host when dumping
any of the interfaces. I've tried

How can I set the advertised value of MTU for virbr0 interface?
Hi all,
I want to set the advertised value of MTU
for virbr0 interface on a Fedora 21 host to 1454
to accommodate the installation of new VMs for testing purposes.
The aforementioned host is an OpenStack VM actually,
which explains the need for a lower than 1500 MTU.
I noticed Pieter Hollants' patch to set
dhcp-option=<number>,"<value>" for an interface,

http problem with (a particular url) and default (nat) networking
At work I have a script that provisions a vm for use by employees. One
step in this process is to fetch hadoop, which we happen to get from
cloudera. I noticed the script always failed when I used libvirt's default
networking (nat) but worked fine when I used user mode networking. My
instinct is that this is related to (potentially uncommon) network traffic
from the server in question, and

HW experience
Hi,
we would like to establish a small Lustre instance and for the OST
planning to use standard Dell PE1950 servers (2x QuadCore + 16 GB Ram) and
for the disk a JBOD (MD1000) steered by the PE1950 internal Raid controller
(Raid-6). Any experience (good or bad) with such a config ?

bridged networking using VLAN : guest with 2 NIC
hello all,
I have been trying to set-up bridged network with VLAN and not able to
succeed as many tutorials address only single NIC.
I am trying to setup 2 guests (backtrack instance) each guest has NIC1 and
NIC2. following is snippet for guest1
I am not able to get 192.168.0.2 address back on guest eth0.
