Bug#562703: qemu-dm missing from xen-utils-3.4
I tried using
http://ftparchive.gplhost.com/debian/pool/lenny/main/x/xen-qemu-dm-3.4/xen-qemu-dm-3.4_3.4.2-1_amd64.deb
But my hvm instance wouldn't start.
I got this in the qemu-dm log
domid: 22
qemu: the number of cpus is 2
Watching /local/domain/0/device-model/22/logdirty/next-active
Watching /local/domain/0/device-model/22/command

Improving xen-qemu-dm-4.0 dependencies
Hi,
When I first built my Debian package, I needed to depend on qemu-system
| qemu, since there was no other ways to pull needed BIOS files.
It seems the situation changed, and that I could depend on less stuff
from the qemu package. Maybe only the package named "etherboot" and
"vgabios". To do that, my plan is to simply package a folder named:
/usr/share/xen/qemu

HVM support to be removed from Debian Squeeze: call for volunteers
[message cross posted to the pkg-xen and xen-devel list]
Dear everyone,
Bastian Blank - which is the person (among others, but mainly him) that
is packaging Xen in Debian -, has decided last summer that he doesn't
want to deal with the qemu-dm of Xen, thus removing Xen Qemu and support
for HVM in Debian. Here is what he wrote:

CentOS 6 domU on Debian 6 dom0 not working
Hi all,
Has anyone managed to get CentOS 6 domU (i.e. guest) working on a Debian 6 do0?
Both OS''s are 32bit and I''m running XEN 4.0.1 with HVM support.
A CentOS 5.6 domU works fine on this very same server though.
When I start CentOS 6, I get the following error:
newusaxen:~# xm create -c /xen/genocide.cfg
Using config file "/xen/genocide.cfg".

[patch] debian/copyright
The debian/copyright is quite wrong and missing quite some
copyright/license issues. I rewrote it using the DEP5 format. But since
it's too big (more than 40 KB), I couldn't attach it. So I've put it here:
http://ftparchive.gplhost.com/xen/debian_copyright
This includes all the copyright things for Qemu as well, but it might be
missing some authors. I believe that the MAINTAINERS

correct steps to add XEN bridge to Debian squeeze?
Hi all,
Does anyone know what the correct steps are to add a XEN bridge, let''s
say xenbr0 to Debian Squeeze?
I have added the following to /etc/network/interfaces
# XEN Bridge
auto xenbr0
iface xenbr0 inet manual
bridge ports eth0
bridge_stp off
bridge_fd 0
And then rebooted the server but brctl show still shows eth0 as bridge:
newusaxen:~# brctl

Woohoo! Windows Server 2008 RC2 on Xen 4.0
Surely you hear plenty about what''s not working, so I thought I''d shoot
a quick message on something that did work. I got Windows Server 2008
RC2 installed. I have yet to even activate it and prove all internal
features/devices work, but installation alone satisfied me! I had to
fight a couple issues and I''ll mention them here, i think they''d be

Buddies,
The Eucalyptus is a system to build a cluster and provide a service such as
Amazon EC2 on its own structure. It is very promising, flexible, stable and
well documented.
The team of Eucalyptus just created an Internet election to choose which
distributions will be officialy supported by it.
I would ask everyone for voting in Debian! Let me explain why.
