Xen on two node DRBD cluster with Pacemaker
Hi all, could somebody point me to what is considered a sound way to offer Xen guests on a two node DRBD cluster in combination with Pacemaker? I prefer block devices over images for the DomU''s. I understand that for live migration DRBD 8.3 is needed, but I''m not sure as to what kind of resource agents/technologies are advised (LVM,cLVM, ...) and what kind of DRBD config

DomU partition resize problem
Hello everybody, I''m playing with Xen and trying to extend DomU disk space. My Configuration: Dom0: all Xen machine are HVM. They''re installed on LVM. I''ve one VG (XEN) on Dom0 and created a LV (here, xps.101.disk) per DomU. disk configuration in xen conf is as follow: disk = [ ''phy:/dev/XEN/xps.%d.disk,ioemu:hda,w'' % (vmid)

Network isolation - PCI passthrough question
Hello, I thinking about using PCI passthrough to dedicated a domU as firewall. I understand PCI passthrough concept. When done, my domU will see network card and the dom0 won''t any more. So I''ll be able to filter all trafic from outside, since it will go through network domU. Then, how will I be able to connect other domU (and maybe dom0) to the network domU ? In a normal way,

PXE boot post-install-script example?
Hi I am trying to get a Xen machine fully configured using PXE, and I am able to see Xen pull the script I specify from my webserver, however I tried making it a simple bash script and it didn''t seem to execute. Can anyone shed some light on an example post-install-script? And particulars about when it is run, ie is it run after the reboot, is it run as root, how can I get debug output

Remus crashes
Hello everyone, I''ve managed to configure and start Remus. However, it works only while the protected server is not loaded. As soon as I start a memory-intensive server application, the stream of Remus messages stops, leaving me with an error message. I think the message is not always the same, but here is what I''ve got from the last run: PROF: suspending at

[PATCH net-next] virtio-net: switch to use XPS to choose txq
We used to use a percpu structure vq_index to record the cpu to queue mapping, this is suboptimal since it duplicates the work of XPS and loses all other XPS functionality such as allowing use to configure their own transmission steering strategy. So this patch switches to use XPS and suggest a default mapping when the number of cpus is equal to the number of queues. With XPS support, there's

pcnet32 and copybreak condition
The main modifications in the PCnet32 ethernet driver seems to be macro that test if COPYBREAK is define. I notice that for network driver which were written for Xen the main modifications was around the copybreak and also some adjustments with include files. Is it true if I say that the port of network device from Linux to Xen is quite "easy" and that the majority of the modifications

flush-btrfs-1 hangs when building openwrt
Hi, Since update to 2.6.37 I can''t build openwrt on my btrfs buildroot anymore. I''m not sure if this is related to the other flush-btrfs-1 thread. plenty of diskspace is free: /dev/mapper/cruor-build 97G 68G 27G 73% /opt/build It always hangs when openwrt builds the ext4 image and runs tune2fs on it.

State of Xen and bonding
Hello, I''m trying to setup Xen on a machine with 2 physical network devices using linux bonding without success. I haven''t received any answer on my question on xen-users, the only discussion on this seems to be at http://lists.xensource.com/archives/html/xen-devel/2005-10/msg01174.html Could someone shed some light on state/ plans regarding Xen and bonding? Tinc Router Mode - PING RESULT is destination host unreachable
Hi Lars, Once I modify the firewall FORWARD rule to ACCEPT. I can ping and access my company PC at home. All traffic can pass through that. But I think it is not a good practice to change the FORWARD rule to ACCEPT. Any idea to check and just allow the tinc VPN traffic only? Instead of allow everything pass through the FORWARD rule. PCI passthrough stopped working, brainache!
Recently had passthrough of 2xPCI DVB-T cards and 1xPCIe DVB-S2 card working, the last know config that was *certainly* working was dom0 xen-4.1.1-3.fc16.x86_64 kernel-3.1.0-0.rc7.git0.0.fc16.x86_64 domU kernel-3.1.0-0.rc8.git0.0.fc16.x86_64 Since then I''ve updated xen-4.1.1-6.fc16.x86_64 on dom0 kernel-3.1.0-0.rc9.git0.0.fc16.x86_64 on dom0 and domU and updated all other packages
