Some Dovecot LDA version sends MDN rather than DSN for overquota.
It appears that there is some version of the Dovecot LDA that is sending an RFC 3798 MDN rather than an RFC 3464 DSN to report non-delivery to a user who is over quota. See <https://bugs.launchpad.net/mailman/+bug/693134> for a discussion of this and <https://bugs.launchpad.net/mailman/+bug/693134/+attachment/1773018/+files/Automatically%20rejected%20mail.msg> for the actual MDN

Freebsd 4 error DSN stat=Service Unavailable after dovecot install
Hello everyone, I am getting an error message on FreeBSD 4 after I install dovecot. To start off, I create two regular users, testuser and testuser1. I send each user emails then I install dovecot. After installing dovecot I set up the users in Maildir format then proceed to send them emails and here is what shows up in the maillogs: Email to testuser3 - Mar 29 22:34:52 myserver

Local delivery via deliver fails for 1 user in alias
Hi all, I'm a bit baffled. I have an OS X server 10.6.8 and everything was working fine. Now however I seem to be having some issues and I'm unable to find log entries to help point me to the error. I have an alias, sales at cirrusav.com, which forwards mail to myself and two others. This works fine most of the time, but on occasion messages are not delivered to one user. It is possible

I just want to configure sendmail so that it uses external email server (my ISP) to send mail. When I executed mail(), i got no error report from php. I checked /var/log/maillog and it indicated that the message was accepted for delivery. However, it didn't

Using LDA with postfix and virtual users
Hi list, I have 7 virtual users in a sql database. I don't want any systemusers or local delivery using postfix. On the postfix side everything works fine as long as I use the 'local' delivery agent. But since I want to use dovecot's sieve functionality I set local_transport to dovecot. From now on Postfix seems to ignore local_* settings like local_recipient_maps. Here is my

Separate home and mail folders problem on delivery
Hello, I am using dovecot 1.2rc series on my mail server combined with postfix ( virtual users with postgre ). I have setup separate home and mail locations. It works fine ( with sieve etc. ). The user home folders are in /home/vmail/%d/%n and mailboxes are in /srv/mail/%d/%n . The permissions are fine and everything is working except in the following case : If a user does not have a home dir
