Gusto.com Rails Site
Hello -
I wanted to announce a very large web application that was built with Ruby
on Rails and runs the site Gusto! http://www.gusto.com/ . It was deployed
yesterday in a little over 4 months of development with 3 developers. The
origins of the site were being developed in Java using Hibernate + Tapestry
and the decision was made to port the 100+ table model to Rails to see if

serialized attribute converting to string on reload
Hello,
Anybody help me out? I done googled it good and didn''t find anything
(which should mean that I''ve done something wrong).
Not much code to talk about here, quite simply I have an attribute
that is serialzied and when I update it, irb shows the object and my
methods run on it as it were indeed so. Though when I reload it
changes the data to a string. Not yaml, just one

how do I download pictures from a dumb phone?
Inserting anything other than a USB cable into the phone seems to be a no-go.
There is one slightly wider and thinner recess,
but no metal is in it.
It looks like a slightly less dumb model would use
the same outer case and a somewhat different inner case.

Traceroute
How do I allow traceroute to reach my server? Pings work fine but
traceroute stops at the last hop before my server. If I shut off the
firewall it reaches it fine.

TinyMCE / Spellcheck integration with rails
Just wanted to post a link to my blog about how I integrated TinyMCE''s
aspell based spell checker into Ruby on Rails. The default configuration
required PHP so I rolled my own.
http://www.gusto.com/mike/blog/post202
I think it works great and you can try it out on our review pages, comment
pages and blog pages on http://www.gusto.com/

Help understanding why glm and lrm.fit runs with my data, but lrm does not
Fixed 'maxiter' in the help file. Thanks.
Please give the original source of that dataset.
That dataset is a tiny sample of GUSTO-I and not large enough to fit this
model very reliably.
A nomogram using the full dataset (not publicly available to my knowledge)
is already available in http://biostat.mc.vanderbilt.edu/tmp/bbr.pdf
Use lrm, not lrm.fit for this. Adding maxit=20 will

A hierarchy of DFS trees...
I just made a DFS link that pointed to another DFS share on a different
server...
It seems to confuse the Win'XP client a bit, but it can be made to work.
That means....
I can build a tree structure w/ DFS.
I can arrange all my servers and shares into a hierarchy.
It may not be practical, but in theory, This could be used as a
hierarchical substitute for the network neighborhood.
I could

ISP down internal phones become unavailable
I saw the following lines in the log this morning. From my router logs
I see that the connection went down as my ISP was doing maintenance
for a few minutes last night. I can understand the external
registrations timing out, but why do the phones become unreachable.
They are on the internal lan within the same subnet as the Asterisk
server. Internal DHCP and DNS was functional. If I had a PRI card

Dedicated Servers
Hi,
A little bit off topic here, but I was wondering if anybody knows about
a good dedicate server provider, that offers CentOS (but ofcourse) as a
os choice, and that is very reliable.
I am using SuperbServer, but as of this moment 2007/03/19 1406
America/NewYork time, my server is down do to a power outage at one of
their facilities in VA. This is the second outage in less that 5 months.

lista
etc.
Segunda ventaja: en
