LVM over Xen + Network
Hi, We are planning to have LVM being used over a network of 3 h/w machines(500 GB Disk each) Each hardware machine will have 2-3 domUs. Can we store these domUs as a Logical Volumes stored across Network of these 3 machines? Can one DomU exceed the 500 GB (physical drive size) and store say 1 TB of data across the networked Physical Volumes? Has anyone done this before? Thanks and regards,

vCPUs and Weight/Caps
Hello Everyone, I am hoping I can get some help with how vCPUs work with weights and caps 1. If I have a domU with 2 vCPUs and a weight of 256, does the weight double (512) or is this 256 time slice across both vCPUs. If the weight does not double, how is it beneficial to have multiple vCPUs? 2. If the domU has 2vCPUs and a cap of 100% how does this work since 100% is a mex of one physical

Bug#693217: Removal of xenstore tdb file before xenstored daemon
Package: xen-utils-common Version: 4.0.0-1 Consider removal of xenstored tdb file (located at /var/lib/xenstored/tdb) before start of xenstored daemon during the boot (or removal during the shutdown/reboot of the server) as proposed by Ian Campbell during our discussions [1]. Munin issue
Hey Guys, I am trying to wrap some loose ends up before we close tomorrow and have one last thing. I have been asked to monitor tunnel bandwidth for vpn clients over the holidays and whipped up a quick Munin plugin to do this. It works well but one problem is that when a client disconnects, the plugin stops submitting graph data for it, so the png's don't show the user anymore, kinda hard

introduction with david's munin module question
Hi all, I am new to puppet and also newcomer in this group. I heart good things about puppet and I decided to give it a try 2 weeks now. After reading various documentation, I began using the complete configuration collection of puppet modules (thanks to David). But I have a problem with the munin module. It works fine, except that it seems to not export virtual ressources. Let me give more detail

OT: Installing munin-node cleanly in spite of RPM
Hi, This is totally off-topic (it''s an rpm/rpmbuild problem), but I want to get to a point where I''m installing and configuring munin-node with puppet. To do that, I need a clean, standardized way of installing munin-mode on CentOS (RHELish) boxes. I could install munin-node from source via puppet and probably make enough edits that all the files end up in reasonable locations

munin stopped working
Just noticed that my munin installation stopped showing any data after the last "big" update. I installed a lot of updates for CentoS, but there was also a munin update coming from rpmforge. However, in yum.log there is no munin listed. But I'm sure I updated munin to 1.2.5-2.el5.rf as well. Does yum log only the centos repo's? The problem seems to be with the creation of

munin module: manage clients and server''s config
Hello all. Probably this question has already been posed in the context of another software, but I am unable to find it. I would like to implement a module which should manage munin-clients as well as the munin-server. Here is what I am thinking about implementing: - There are two classes: munin::client and munin::server - munin::clients'' configuration will be managed automatically.

Munin CGI Graphs
Anyone here running Munin w/ the CGI graphs? I must have missed something in the munin wiki as its creating the correct html, yet the only errors I get are apache suggesting it can't find the files for the png's? The cgi script has all the perl modules it requires installed. Thanks, jlc

can i access module "files" w/o using client-server?
Hi, I''m new to puppet and trying to get started using it just in local mode. My basic question is: how can i reference a static file within the module (eg in the module''s files/ subdirectory, as described in http://reductivelabs.com/trac/puppet/wiki/ModuleOrganisation). I suppose i could try using a full.absolute path to the file, but that seems to completely defeat the purpose

Monitor Network Traffic
What is the best way to monitor the total incoming / outcoming network traffic of CentOS server. I think that the solution is to monitor the network interfaces and to send SNMP packets to remote server. But is it possible? regards -------------- next part -------------- An HTML attachment was scrubbed... URL:
