it frees all pages of the domain.
When domain memory is very large, it takes too long resulting in

AW: RE: AMD P-States not recognized for Xen 3.3 and 3.4
Oh, thanks, Niraj.
I overlooked this initially, because this code is not implemented in waldi 3.1-2
kernel, but only in 3.3-1. I''ll check it out tonight, as booting a new kernel
per remote is a bit too dangerous.
This would be exactly what I need.
BR,
Carsten.

Problems with enabling hypervisor C and P-state control
Hi,
Is there any documentation on enabling hypervisor support for both C
and P-state control?
On xen-unstable and linux-2.6.18-xen.hg, if I enable cpuidle=1 on the
xen command line and then run xenpm, I will get output for C-states
(shown below) but it complains that "Xen cpufreq is not enabled!"
cpu id : 0
total C-states : 2
idle time(ms) : 73264

doubt on releasing domain pages
Hi,
I am trying to release domU pages from page_list and xenpage_list
after domU shutdown while retaining the rest of the domain information.
To achieve this in __domain_finalise_shutdown i call
domain_relinquish_resources. This is failing to release pages from
page_list for type PGT_l2_page_tables and crashing dom0.
To be specific, while testing on mini-os i saw that when

Support for CPU frequency scaling in Xen
Hi,
Does Xen provide support for CPU frequency scaling?
If there exists such support, from which version they support it?
Otherwise what problems do exist in support frequency scaling in Xen?
Thanks,
Vahid

Random reboots with Xen 3.2.1
I am seeing random reboots after installing Xen 3.2.1 (running with
linux-2.6.18-8 pulled from a few days ago). So far, the reboots only
happen if I have enabled cpufreq=dom0-kernel and actually run
frequency scaling (such as with the ondemand governor). The reboots
only happen after a few hours. The machines seem to be stable if I
pass the cpufreq option to Xen but disable frequency scaling.

Assertion ''! IS_INVALID_M2P_ENTRY(gpfn)'' failed kills machine
I''ve triggered this a few times now, so time to report. Unfortuantely, I
don''t have a good recipe for reproducing this one, and this is a reasonably
hacked up branch of (domU) XenLinux. So, while I can''t discount bugs
in this domU, a domU bug shouldn''t crash Xen like this:
(I belive this one was from simply typing halt in domU)

Asterisk modifies from header
Hi,
I have configured few users in my system with '-' E.g. 1000-1001,
1000-1002 etc..
I am successfully able to registered as 1000-1001 and dials number
937575346. The other end sees 10001001 (missing '-') as a caller.
I did verified in the packet capture surprisingly it is asterisk
which did this.
So, here calling is not a problem and my extensions.conf is bare
simple.

Unexpected blkif status disconnected
I was playing with suspending and resuming Xen domains. Suspend and
restore seems to work. However, when I reconnected with ''xm console'',
I got the following error message on screen. Should I be concerned?

xen and pci
hello,
I''m running XEN 2.0 on IBM ThinkPad T23.
Now the weird thing is that I get two different outputs from /sbin/lspci
depending on whether I run 2.6.8.1-xen0 or 2.6.8.1-bproc.
In particular the output from 2.6.8.1-xen0 seems to be missing those 4

[Patch] a bugfix to the oprofile code
Keir,
The checks in the function passive_domain_do_rdmsr() were not
sufficient. Also the same checks were done in the function
passive_domain_do_wrmsr(). So these common checks are moved in a new
single function passive_domain_msr_op_checks().

OProfile on Dom0. Problem with starting daemon
Dear experts,
to monitor performance of applications on our private clouds I decided
to use Xenoprof. For that, I installed patched OProfile 0.9.5 on Dom0
and DomU. Then, I started the daemon on Dom0
opcontrol --start-daemon --active-domains=1 --separate=library
--event=LLC_MISSES:90000
and received the following error:
/usr/local/bin/opcontrol: line 1171: echo write error: invalid

oprofile problem in centos with custom kernel
Hi!
I am trying to profile my custom 2.6.37 linux kernel with
oprofile in centos 5.5, and i have encountered
the following problem.
(Before everyone starts shouting, I know that custom kernels are not
supported by centos team, however I really
need to run a modified version, due to a project concerning my MSc
thesis. So i hope for your understanding :-) .
I have build the kernel

QT and oprofile on Centos Linux 5.5
Philip Schaffner, Thank you for your reply. I guess we will have to wait until Centos 6 arrives to get a working QT. Did you see Nicolas Thierry-Mieg's response regarding yum install oprofile-gui. We were able to install oprofile-guii.i386 0:0.9.4-15.el5.centos and oprofile.i386 0.0.9.4.15.el.5.centos. Thank you.

vm_map_xen_pages removal breaks modular oprofile
Hi Keir:
It has been brought to my attention that modular oprofile is broken
because it now calls get_vm_area which is not an exported function.
This appears to be the result of the changeset that removed
vm_map_xen_pages which was only used by oprofile.
So we either need to export get_vm_area in Xen, or put that
function back. What do you think about this?
Thanks,
