LLVM Developers Meeting JIT BoF -- Request for Topics of Interest
Hi All,
I've listed the current topics of interest below, along with some notes on
each. We only have 30 minutes so we'll barely scratch the surface of these
during the BoF itself. My main aims are for you to meet each other,
identify potential areas of collaboration, identify things that I can do to
unblock you, and get the ball rolling on some conversations that we can
continue on the

LLVM Developers Meeting JIT BoF -- Request for Topics of Interest
Hi Andres,
That would be of interest to me too. One thing around this I have been

Sounds good to me. I think there are two sub-topics here:
(1) JIT specifics. E.g. What

any one interesting develop a gui app for tinc
I was just thinking Ubuntu's network manager could use one. I didn't even
realize tinc was available for Windows until I read this.

Any "special interest" in R/pic interface?
Hi Folks,
I'm wondering if there are people out there who would
be interested in what would be involved in developing
an interface between R graphics and the 'pic' language.
Explanation; 'pic' has been part of the Unix 'troff'
typesetting suite since very early days (1970s), and also
of the GNU troff: 'groff'. Its function is to act as a

Ruby user group in/near Wilmington, DE? Interest in starting one?
In early February, me and several other ThoughtWorkers* are starting a
substantial Ruby and Rails project at a bank in Wilmington, DE and we
will be commuting weekly to the area for at least a few months. I
tried to find a Ruby user group in the area but came up empty. Anyone
have more info or interested in us helping them get a new group
launched?
Thanks in advance,
Obie

Smart boxes
Hi,
I'm using dovecot as IMAP server.
I access my mails trough Mail (Mac client), iPhone and webmail.
In Mail I use a smartbox that shows all my unread messages, no matter where
it is.
I really want this feature at my iPhone, so I'm thinking about developing a
plugin that will create the smart unread box and follow these rules:
- Every new mail arrived, it will create a hard link to

Correct way to update Asterisk
Pardon the newbie post. I installed Asterisk on a "test" system using
the Asterisk@home cd image. When you boot from Asterisk@home is installs
an O/S and Asterisk on your PC. How cool is that. But I was wondering if
someone could point me in the right direction for updating the version
that I have.
I'm new to CVS, how do I determine what version to build? Is there a
primer on how to

CMS act_as_tree and modular architecture
I am developing a CMS using act_as_tree for the pages and act_as _list
to order them (as shown on Railscasts). Each page can load a custom
ERB template, for instance I have one to display a standard article
and one to display a group of articles (so acting as a category of
underling articles).
If I want to develop a forum, let''s say that I have a page with id 5,
with name forum, how can

[LLVMdev] Develop on trunk.
Guys, that was very interesting and useful stuff you preached there. Mind
if I make a patch to the FAQ and include it somewhere?
"Q: When should I develop against a branch? A: Only if you are making
really big or controversial changes. ... blah blah
I am thinking that it would be highly useful for the project, if somebody

Anyone ever implement an *outbound* dial-by-name??
Hi All;
I'm a newbie so please be gentle.
I'm a new * user and am using it to control the 3 IP phones in my
house. I'm using asterisk because I enjoy the flexibility and I'm
sort of a tinkerer.
Here's my question: Everyone has used the "dial by directory"
function where you dial the user's name to connect to that
extension. Instead of an inward dial,

omindex one file at a time?
Hi, all -- I want to do Plain Old Omindex'ing *but* the mapping
between my documents' filenames and the URLs where I hope search
users to find them is, uh..., strange. The simplest thing (to
me) would be to run omindex for each document, e.g.
omindex --no-delete -U /cool-url-1 /funky/doc/file-blah.pdf
omindex --no-delete -U /cool-url-7 /doc/funky/ohmy/blah-file.txt
... and so on...

Multi-NIC network boot floppy+cd+hd+com with PXE and NBI support: does interest?
Hi!
I'm preparing what should be a general "network boot" solution for the
ones that needs to do network boot on PC without BIOS support / ROM chips.
It supports both PXE (like pxelinux.0) and NBI images.
I've prepared a precompiled multi-driver image that can autodetect and
handle nearly 30 PCI and ISA NICs.
My "remote boot kit" contains the same image in 4

Tru64 patch won't make it into 3.5 due to lack of interest.
Tru64 patch will not make it into 3.5 (this is final) due to lack of
willing people to test. I have given the Tru64/osf1 community almost a
month to test it. And *ONE* person came forward to give me verification.
And don't give me shit about "I don't have time." The person who tested
it was LEAVING his employer with Tru64. He found time.
