[PATCH] xenstore-stat v2
The entries in xenstore have permission attributes. The
attributes can be easily altered by xenstore-chmod, however,
I cannot find a easy way to see them.
I''ve modified xenstore_client.c to raise a new utility.
The utility checks the permission and makes an easy-look output.
Please tell me any suggestions.
Thanks.

Summary of variables with NA, empty
Hi,
Is there a function I can use on my dataframe to give me a concise summary of variables that are NA,blank, etc? Basically all Null values, Empty strings, white space, blank values. Ideally it would look something like the below:
# it should only includes the fields with NAs, blanks, etc. Added bonus would be to include column Index.
#Valid Records = records that are not NA, blank, etc

Allow xenstore client utilities to be built statically.
The attached patches enable the xenstore client utilities
(xenstore-read/write and friends) to be built statically and against
uclibc. This is useful for utility domains where a small userspace is
desired.
Both static building with glibc and linking with uclibc seem to have
problems with threading and so the static version of the library is
built without thread support. This is OK since none of

Bumping threads in a forum-type app
I have a forum-type application. The Board model has many comments, the
Comments model acts as a tree. So I have a board with multiple
comments, some comments are parent comments and there are comments that
belong to a parent comment, making up a thread.
Like most forums, I want it so that threads are sorted based on the date
of their last comment. But I have no idea how to specify this in

Looking for help in calculating percentiles
Hi All:
I am working with a dataset on Arsenic toxicity, and I am trying to
calculate the 20th, 40th, 60th, 80th, and highest percentiles for a
variable, dietary Moisture (variable name dMoist).
The inbuilt function quantile(dMoist) would print 0, 25th, 50th, 75th, and
100th percentile. Does there exist a function that can calculate xth
percentile (where x = 10th, 20th, ... etc) values?

[PATCH] daemon: Translate device names if Linux device ordering is unstable (RHBZ#1804207).
Linux from around 5.6 now enumerates individual disks in any order
(whereas previously it enumerated only drivers in parallel). This
means that /dev/sdX ordering is no longer stable - in particular we
cannot be sure that /dev/sda inside the guest is the first disk that
was attached to the appliance, /dev/sdb the second disk and so on.
However we can still use SCSI PCI device numbering as found

string split at xth position
Hi,
I have a vector of strings like:
c("a1b1","a2b2","a1b2") which I want to spilt into two parts like:
c("a1","a2","a2") and c("b1","b2,"b2"). So there is
always a first part with a+number and a second part with b+number.
Unfortunately there is no separator I could use to directly split
the vectors.. Any idea

Error during wrapup: cannot open the connection
I am trying to use a new (to me) package (samr) and even when I try to run a
very simple example, I get this "cannot open the connection" error.
The reason I am writing to r-help rather than to the authors of samr is I
think this may be a more general R problem rather than a samr-specific
problem. Perhaps something with my installation and write access to some
particular place ? I am

Admin issues the Xth..
Hi there.
I just switched from icecast1 to icecast2. Right now I'm not sure if
that was a very good idea. I do like the ogg-support, but I lack a good
amount of documentation (Hey, I'd be glad to help you out, but how can
there be consistent documentation for a software that is only available
through cvs(-snapshots)?) and good linux source clients.
I used xmms-liveice or muse before, but

SAMR for paired samples
Hi R-help,
I am trying to use 'samr' for 10 pre and post paired samples to test
whether
post is different from pre (i.e., the location shift for the delta of

However, I got an error message saying

efficient code. how to reduce running time?
Hi,
I am new to R.
and even though I've made my code to run and do what it needs to .
It is taking forever and I can't use it like this.
I was wondering if you could help me find ways to fix the code to run
faster.
Here are my codes..
the data set is a bunch of 0s and 1s in a data.frame.
What I am doing is this.
I pick a column and make up a new column Y with values associated with that

drawing samples based on a matching variable
Hi, everyone. I have what I hope will be a simple coding question. It seems
this is a common job, but so far I've had trouble finding the answer in
searches.
I have two matrices (x and y) with a different number of observations in
each. I need to draw a random sample without replacement of observations
from x, and then, using a matching variable, draw a sample of equal size
from y. It is the

Significance analysis of Microarrays (SAM)
Dear list,
I am trying to perform a significance analysis of a microarray experiment
with survival data using the {samr} package. I have a matrix containing my
data which has 17816 rows corresponding to genes, and 286 columns
corresponding to samples. The name of this matrix is data.matrix2. Some of
the first values of this matrix are:

other kind.
