Q: Timing of render :update in an action ?
Hey folks, am hoping someone can set me straight with a solution to an
issue that has come up involving the timing of rendered page elements in
relation to the completion of an action''s execution.
I have an ror search app which searches through two tables consisting of
7,000 page urls and a table w/ 87,000 related keyphrases within those
pages. Search results can take anywhere from 2

application to rails, and am not sure what the best approach would be
for specifying the relationship between the two sets of data.
I''ll describe the existing table structures first.
Table 1: Urls
Each url has a unique id and two lists of Phrases, these are currently
setup as varchars with "," delimitation -

I''m trying to find all of the highest ranked definitions, and then

crash on repeated search
I have found another crash in ferret; this one just uses a regular
search. It''s similar to an issue reported by Matt Schnitz a while ago,
but unlike his, mine does not go away if I turn off omit_norms. It does
go away if I turn on the garbage collector more often, but I''m not sure
that''s a stable workaround under the circumstances.
This one isn''t a

Style: getFoo() vs foo()
The coding guidelines say:
> Function names should be verb phrases (as they represent actions), and
command-like function should be imperative. The name should be camel case,
and start with a lower case letter (e.g. openFile() or isFoo()).
This means that functions that just compute or access a value (no
side-effects) should be named e.g. `getParent()`, rather than `parent()` as

Regex for splitting string
Hi
We have a search website where the user can type in individual words
separated by spaces and/or phrases enclosed in single or double quotes.
We are looking for a way to obtain a list of words and phrases from the
search string.
Can someone help?
Thanks,
Yash

AAH lost my IVR phrases
Hello-
I have a low traffic AAH setup, a few hardphones, a few softphones, 50 calls per day max. I used the AMP Digital Receptionist to
make a simple voice menu: "Thank you for calling xxxx". I did this for both Normal times and After Hours times. It worked fine.
I then went to the AMP Maintenance window, Config Edit, got the "phpconfig for Asterisk PBX" page, and selected

graphically representing frequency of words in a speech?
Dear all,
I recently saw a graph on television that displayed selected
words/phrases in a speech scaled in size according to their frequency.
So words/phrases that were often used appeared large and words that were
rarely used appeared small. The closest thing I can find on the web to
approximate what I saw can be found here:

The cross-compilation chapter has entire identical phrases and the
general structure is very similar.

fts squat non-english search for 2 words
Hello,
It looks I encoutered a bug or misconfiguration. fts_squat search for subject and body works excellent for English mails. For non-English (in particular, Russian) it works only when query consists of 1 word. Phrases - 2 and more words - always returns nothing. Example: search for "planet" ("???????") returns results, search for "Earth" ("?????") also

US telco lingo
Could someone explain to a non-US dummy the following phrases I have seen on
the list.
"I can provide you with tier 1 termination 6/6. I can blend or NPANXX
breakout."
"We provide US48 termination, blended rate for 1 MOU and above is .008 with
6/6."
What is 6/6?
What is US48?
What is blended?
What is MOU?
What is NPANXX breakout?

New sounds also now in CVS
The soundfiles I submitted earlier today have been cleaned up, and
added to the Digium CVS server in a more formal manner. Also, some
of the really bad formatting in my .txt description file has been
rectified. All of the sounds on my website are now on the Digium
site, and I will be submitting future changes via patches to Digium
for additional sounds.
Ideas welcome for more text; I may
