Xen0 crash dump (/dev/ram0 root) possibly of interest
I''m continuing to work on making a new XenCD as previously discussed here. In the course of that work, I''ve generated (actually, currently stuck on) the enclosed crash dump. Thought I''d forward it for interest. To head off questions, you''ll see references to a very large initrd (~114 Mb). The Xen dump may or not be related to this unusual usage.

can''t create 1st domain on debian
Hi all I''ve taken the plunge and decided to set up Xen on my AMD64 machine. I want to use amd64 debian as the domain 0 O/S, then install a full amd64 debian dev kit and a couple of 32-bit linuxes on top. I''ve got an install of debian amd64 running as domain0, which boots up just fine. I boot it with dom0_mem=131072 (the machine has 1Gb of RAM). I then created some disk

xen and pci
hello, I''m running XEN 2.0 on IBM ThinkPad T23. Now the weird thing is that I get two different outputs from /sbin/lspci depending on whether I run 2.6.8.1-xen0 or 2.6.8.1-bproc. In particular the output from 2.6.8.1-xen0 seems to be missing those 4 lines 0000:00:01.0 PCI bridge: Intel Corp. 82830 830 Chipset AGP Bridge (rev 02) 0000:00:1e.0 PCI bridge: Intel Corp. 82801BAM/CAM PCI

Good evening all, I''ve all but finished installing Xen 2.0.5, XenLinux 2.6.10 and Debian GNU/Linux 3.0r4 into /boot on a colo box currently (and temporarily) running CentOS. I''ve chrooted into the debian install (chroot /boot /bin/bash) and was able to set everything up, install requisite packages, install xen, etc. Now I''m at the last step and I''ve run into

live migration with DRBD devices
Hi all, I want to do live migration of domains using DRBD block devices for synchronisation between the two Xen hosts with Xen 2.0.7. I''ve written a script ( block-drbd ) which binds / unbinds DRBD devices for specific domains (with DRBD, only one host can write on a drbd device at the same time). This script sets the current host as master (bind) or secondary (unbind) in a DRBD

Re: Fwd: Device 0 (vif) could not be connected. Hotplug scripts not working.
I am wondering  what would happen when attempt to create Debian PV DomU at Xen 3.3.1  Suse 11.1 Dom0 via debootstrap , the native way of install  Debian (Ubuntu)  PV Guests  for Xen Systems. I beleve deboostrap RPM for Suse should be on the Net Boris. --- On Sat, 7/11/09, cmasmas cmasmas <cmasmas10@gmail.com> wrote: From: cmasmas cmasmas <cmasmas10@gmail.com> Subject: Re:

Fiddling with software RAID1 : continue working with one of two disks failing?
Hi, I'm currently experimenting with software RAID1 on a spare PC with two 40 GB hard disks. Normally, on a desktop PC with only one hard disk, I have a very simple partitioning scheme like this : /dev/hda1 80 MB /boot ext2 /dev/hda2 1 GB swap /dev/hda3 39 GB / ext3 Here's what I'd like to do. Partition a second hard disk (say, /dev/hdb) with three

question on software raid-1
I have a system that is RAID -1 configured as /dev/md0 is /dev/hda1 /dev/hdb1 /dev/md1 is /dev/hdb3 /dev/hdb3 it seems as though /dev/hda has failed.... I have another disk (identical model) that I can replace hda with. I know about the commands fdisk to repartion and raidhotadd /dev/md0 /dev/hda1 and raidhotadd /dev/md1 /dev/hda3 (to be ran after the system boots). BUT... how do I now get

auto-installing debian on xen on debian with debian-installer preseeding
Hi Folks, Hopefully this will be of interest to some of you. I''ve put together a debian-installer preseed setup, that allows (among other things) one to do a non-interactive install of Xen with a minimal Debian as it''s Domain0, sets up LVM so that one can create disks for other domains and then lets you run the debian installer in a new domain so that you can then install

RE: Error Creating Domain:vbd:Segment phy:/dev/hda3 isin writable use
I''ve seen this happen before, not sure why. I changed ''phy:'' to ''file:'' and it worked. I later rebooted and ''phy:'' worked again. So you might try ''file:'' rather than ''phy:''. -- Ray -----Original Message----- From: xen-users-bounces@lists.xensource.com

Problem booting Dom0
Hi, Thanks to everyone involved in the Xen project. I think it is great and can''t wait to get my hands dirty with it. In the meantime, I cannot boot Dom0 on an ibm x335 and I am not sure what the problem is. Any insights are welcome. Here is what my grub.conf file looks like: title Fedora Core (2.6.8-1.521) root (hd0,0) kernel /vmlinuz-2.6.8-1.521 ro root=/dev/sda9

Xen networking on different vlans
Hello, I have a xen server that needs to run a domU on a different vlan than xen''s. I have configured my switch (a cisco catalyst) to tag every untagged packet to the default vlan (the one in which is dom0) and to accept tagged packets (for that domU). I have xenbr0 linked with the eth0, the default network. Then I run * vconfig add eth0 101 -> To create a virtual interface with
