[ PATCH v3 2/3] xen: enable Virtual-interrupt delivery
Change from v2:
re-written code in ''vmx_intr_assist'' into if()/else if() sequence to make code change easy to review.
Virtual interrupt delivery avoids Xen to inject vAPIC interrupts manually, which is fully taken care of by the hardware. This needs some special awareness into existing interrupr injection path:
For pending interrupt from vLAPIC, instead of direct injection, we

[PATCH v4 1/2] Xen: Fix live migration while enabling APICV

Display Images from URL in Database
I am only 3 days into rails, so please excuse the stupid question.
I am trying to access my database named Movies. I am using a table
named movie. I would like to pull the table entry with field
vname=rawr, and then take this entry''s field vpic, and use that vpic
(assume its a url to an image) to display an image.
To begin with, I am having problems with displaying an image with

[PATCH v4 2/2] Xen: Fix VMCS setting for x2APIC mode guest while enabling APICV
The "APIC-register virtualization" and "virtual-interrupt deliver"
VM-execution control has no effect on the behavior of RDMSR/WRMSR if
the "virtualize x2APIC mode" VM-execution control is 0.
When guest uses x2APIC mode, we should enable "virtualize x2APIC mode"
for APICV first.

[PATCH 0/4] Add posted interrupt supporting
From: Yang Zhang <yang.z.zhang@Intel.com>
The follwoing patches are adding the Posted Interrupt supporting to Xen:
Posted Interrupt allows vAPIC interrupts to inject into guest directly
without any vmexit.
- When delivering a interrupt to guest, if target vcpu is running,
update Posted-interrupt requests bitmap and send a notification event
to the vcpu. Then the vcpu will handle this

SMP Problems with 4.8-RELEASE
Hello,
I have the following hardware configuration.
Tyan 2466N motherboard, 1.03 BIOS, 2 Athlon-MP 1800+ CPUs, 512MB registered
ECC DRAM, Onboard 3Com NIC (xl type)
Radeon 8500 AGP video card
Adaptec 3210S SCSI RAID controller
Comtrol RocketPort 8 port PCI serial card
I have started to experience some odd system lockups in the past couple
months, and it seems to be getting worse. I particular,

RELENG_6 regression: panic: vm_fault on nofault entry, addr: c8000000
Hi,
there's a regression going from 6.2 to 6.3, where it will panic upon
booting the kernel within vm_fault. This problem has been discussed
before, but I'm seeing it reliably on a RELENG_6 checkout from 5th of
May.
It affects multiple (but identical) systems, here's an verbose boot
leading to the panic. Please note that 6.2 was running fine on these
machines, they also boot

Align periodic vpts to reduce timer interrupts and save power
Hi,
After c/s 18694 changed vHPET to vpt, for single HVM RHEL 5u1 guest idle case, our box will consume ~0.8W more power than before. The reason is two periodical vpts'' expires are hard to be aligned in the 50us soft timer SLOP. So we are considering a vpt specific enhancement which could try to just align periodical timers within vpt.
A generic enhancement is to add a new interface

Problem detecting Sil3124 SATA controllers off of Sandy Bridge northbridge-connected PCIe slots
Hi,
We're having some trouble with detection of a couple of Sil3124 SATA
controller cards on newer motherboard and processor combos.
Specifically, we're running a Supermicro X9SCM-F motherboard (latest
BIOS) and Intel E3-1220v2 CPU.
What we're seeing:
- Syba Sil3124 PCIe cards are only being detected when installed in PCIe

[PATCH] nested vmx: nested TPR shadow/threshold emulation
TPR shadow/threshold feature is important to speedup the boot time
for Windows guest. Besides, it is a must feature for certain VMM.
We map virtual APIC page address and TPR threshold from L1 VMCS,
and synch it into shadow VMCS in virtual vmentry.
If TPR_BELOW_THRESHOLD VM exit is triggered by L2 guest, we
inject it into L1 VMM for handling.
Besides, this commit fixes an issue for apic access

[Patch] Fix x64 SMP Vista''s Bug Check 0x101 issue
x64 SMP Vista HVM guest uses HPET as the main system timer, and it uses
physical destination mode with broadcast to deliver the interrupts
generated by HPET. In current code, timer interrupts are injected only
to VCPU0 in vioapic.c, but this doesn''t satisfy x64 SMP Vista -- when it
boots, it complains "a clock interrupt was not received on a secondary
processor within the allocated

PCI device assignment to guests
The main change from the patches I sent out earlier this week is support for guests that use the PIC. A callback for PIC irq ack handling is also introduced.
Currently, there's no mechanism to register/unregister callers to the irq ack callbacks, but they can be added when there's more than one user for the functionality.
Please review.
