Why p2m allocation is from hap or shadow preallocated memory?
And can we make p2m memory allocation from domain heap directly?

[PATCH 0 of 4] Use superpages on restore/migrate
This patch series restores the use of superpages when restoring or
migrating a VM, while retaining efficient batching of 4k pages when
superpages are not appropriate or available.

[PATCH 0 of 3] Miscellaneous populate-on-demand bugs
This patch series includes a series of bugs related to p2m, ept, and
PoD code which were found as part of our XenServer product testing.
Each of these fixes actual bugs, and the 3.4-based version of the patch
has been tested thoroughly. (There may be bugs in porting the patches,
but most of them are simple enough as to make it unlikely.)
Each patch is conceptually independent, so they can each

Some problems about xenpaging
Hi, Olaf
we have tested the xenpaging feature and found some problems.
(1) the test case like this : when we start a VM with POD enable, the xenpaging is started at the same time.
this case will cause many problems ,finally, we fixed the BUG, the patch is attached below.
(2) there is a very serious problem. we have observed many VM crash examples, the error code is not always the same.

Page tables in Xen
Hi,
I have a question about memory page tables in Xen. As far as I
understood, every modification
to page table will go through Xen(hypervisor). Is it so that all page
tables are actually allocated
in Xen(hypervisor) instead of guest OS(domain)? Also, is it the case
that Xen(hypervisor) needs to
maintain a page table for each process running in every domain?
Thanks

Execution Flow when Guest Page Fault
I would like to know approximately the overall execution flow when the guest O/S page fault - how is the page fault transfer to a page fault in the host O/S?
Thanks.

[makedumpfile] extract vmcoreinfo from /proc/vmcore for Xen
Hi,
--- background ----------------------------------------------------
* what the makedumpfile is:
To shorten the size of the dumpfile and the time of creating the
dumpfile, makedumpfile copies only the necessary pages for analysis
to the dumpfile from /proc/vmcore. You can specify the kind of
unnecessary pages with dump_level. If you want to shorten the size

[Question] How to support page offline in Xen environment
Hi, all
Page offline can be used by many purpose, like memory offline, memory power management, proactive action when multiple CE error happen to one page etc. In virtualization environment without guest offline support, we think offline a page usually means replace the old page with a new one transparently to guest.
Currently we are trying to add page offline support in Xen environment .

A different probklem with save/restore on C/S 14823.
I''m not seeing the problem that Fan Zhao is reporting, instead I get
this one. Not sure if ti''s the same one or a different problem... This
happens with my simple-guest [i.e. not using hvmloader, as I described
before]. This worked fine yesterday.

[PATCH] unshadow the page table page which are used as data page
The patch deals with the situation which guest OS uses unused page table
pages as data pages and write data to them. The pages will still be
grabbed by Xen as page table pages, and lots of unnecessary page faults
occur.
The patch will check if the data guest writes to the page table contains
valid mfn or not, if not, we believe it is a data page now and then
unshadow the page.
The patch

[PATCH 0/2] MCA support with page offlining
Hi all,
I had posted about MCA support for Intel64 before. It had only a
function to log the MCA error data received from hypervisor.
http://lists.xensource.com/archives/html/xen-devel/2008-09/msg00876.html
I attach patches that support not only error logging but also Page
Offlining function. The page where an MCA occurs will offline and not
reuse. A new flag ''PGC_reserved''

[PATCH 0 of 4 RFC] Populate-on-demand: Check pages being returned by the balloon driver
Populate-on-demand: Check pages being returned by the balloon driver
This patch series is the second result of my work last summer on
decreasing fragmentation of superpages in a guests'' p2m when using
populate-on-demand.
This patch series is against 4.1; I''m posting it to get feedback on
the viability of getting a ported version of this patch into 4.2.

xenpaing: one way to avoid paging out the page, when the corresponding mfn is in use.
Hello,
Recently many advanced memory mechanisms are introduced into Xen. One problem we found is the conflict between p2m query and setting.
For example, backend drivers always map domU’s page to its own space, during the mapping procedure, situations as follow may happen,
when mfn is obtained by gfn_to_mfn(), this mfn is likely to be paged out.

[PATCH 0/5] Add MSI support to XEN
Hi, Keir,
These patches are rebased version of Yunhong''s original patches,
which were sent out before XEN 3.2 was released. These patches enable
MSI support and limited MSI-X support in XEN. Here is the original
description of the patches from Yunhong''s mail.
The basic idea including:
1) Keep vector global resource owned by xen, while split pirq into
per-domain

[V6 PATCH 0/7]: PVH dom0....
Hi,
V6: The only change from V5 is in patch #6:
- changed comment to reflect autoxlate
- removed a redundant ASSERT
- reworked logic a bit so that get_page_from_gfn() is called with NULL
for p2m type as before. arm has ASSERT wanting it to be NULL.
Tim: patch 4 needs your approval.
Daniel: patch 5 needs your approval.
These patches implement PVH dom0.

MSI Support in Xen
I was trying to patch Xen 3.2 from the mercurial repository with the MSI
patches by Yunhong Jiang given at the bottom of this page :
http://lists.xensource.com/archives/html/xen-devel/2007-11/msg00157.html
The tree seems to have significantly changed, especially the
hvm_irq_dpci_mapping structure in irq.h header file. Are there any updated
patches, or can I get a version of Xen from somewhere
