[PATCH] xentrace event mask for memory management class
Since TRC_MEM is defined as 0x000af000 in xen/include/public/trace.h, TRC_MEM = TRC_SCHED | TRC_VMX. I feel strange about this. I do not think scheduling is a part of memory management. Am I right? If not, please tell me the background TRC_MEM is defined as TRC_SCHED | TRC_VMX. If so, please apply this patch. This patch defines TRC_MEM as an independent event mask. In addition, xentrace

[PATCH] turn off writable page tables
At OLS I gave a talk on some of the Xen scalability inhibitors, and one of these was writable page tables. We went over why the feature does not scale, but just as important, we found that the uniprocessor case does not provide any advantage either. These tests were done on x86_64, so I wanted to run the 1-way test on 32 bit to show the same problem. So, I have run with writable PTs and

Problem getting x86_64 dom0 to boot on a FC4 machine
I''m struggling to get Xen to boot on a FC4 Opteron box. I''ve included the tail of the boot log below [1]. I suspect that the problems relates to the software RAID 1 root and boot partitions, and how it relates to the initrd image. The RAID volumes fail to mount. I compiled the Xen snapshot from the 23rd September, and the only change I''ve made is to enable the

[PATCH] fix network-bridge stop
During my attempts to get the latest bridge networking model working on my system, I often invoked ''network-bridge stop'' with total failure. ldap ENC extension to use environment parent node
Hi, We currently use ldap ENC to set server role variables and extlookup to set domain or environment variables. I have a suggestion regarding ldap use as an ENC - if a node within ldap has the environment attribute set then it should inherit/mixin (if available) from a node named after it''s environment. It could be populated with only puppetVar type attributes so that any environment

netperf strange issue
Hi, I''m not able to get netperf working for a virtual PCI(vif) domU. However, I''m able to get it working while doing pass-through I/O. I''m not sure what is the problem. However, I am able to ping the destination machine using the vif domU. Is there any port etc. that needs to be unblocked here. Regards, Asim _______________________________________________ Xen-users

Xen & netperf
First, I apologize if this message has been received multiple times. I''m having problems subscribing to this mailing list: Hi xen-users, I am trying to decide whether I should run a game server inside a Xen domain. My primary reason for wanting to virtualize is because I want to isolate this environment from the rest of my server. I really like the idea of isolating the game server

[PATCH] boot with default on dom0_mem allocation failure.
Hi, this patch makes Xen boot with the default dom0_mem value when the given value exceeds available memory, instead Xen panics and reboots. Administrators have a chance to correct dom0_mem (and other parameters if necessary) after Xen is up with default, seeing the warning message. Tested by booting Domain-0. SMP guest support in unstable tree.
The unstable tree now includes support for SMP guests, i.e. domains which run on multiple cpus. SMP guests can use between 1 and 32 virtual cpus, even if the machine has fewer physical cpus. The code is highly experimental and performance will improve over time. To use SMP guests: - enable option CONFIG_SMP in the Linux 2.6 kernel config - dom0 will boot with upto the number of physical cpus in
