bonding, ethtool and live migration
hi,
i''m having here the problem with bonding and crcchecksum. So as i read the
mailing list the solution is to run
ethtool -K eth0 tx off
inside domU. So my domU is reachable. All is fine.
But after i migrate (live) the domU to another machine the complete domU
stopped. Und I also had one time this ugly Zombie thing in xm list and
couldn''t reboot the machine (only power

xen 3.0.1, mdadm and DEBUG problem
hi,
i''ve a little problem here with raid1 inside domU. My setup is, two block
devices (gnbd) attached to domU (sda1, sdb1) and build raid1 inside domU.
All works fine (mdadm --remove, block-detach, resize, block-attach, mdadm
-add) except the part where i want to grow my raid to the new size (mdadm
--grow .. --size=max). Sometimes (when not much fs load is done in domU) it
works and

Syslinux on USB initrd problem
Hi!
Im currently trying to encrypt my harddrive and plan to boot it of a USB memory
stick.
Im using loop-aes to do the real work but Im having the hardest time getting
syslinux to
mount my initrd. Im not sure what information you need but Ill give a bit
of it.
VFS unable to mount root-fs on unknow-block(1,0)

How to get arcnet working with other-than-root accounts?
Hello!
I've successfully gotten the arcnet driver compiled and installed into a
Centos kernel. Admittedly,
with a lot of help. Currently, I'm using the following script to get
arcnet up and running:
cd /usr/src/redhat/BUILD/kernel-2.6.9/linux-2.6.9/drivers/net/arcnet
insmod arcnet.ko
insmod arc-rawmode.ko
insmod com20020.ko
insmod com20020-pci.ko node=3 device=arc0 timeout=3

xen-3.0.4-rc1: undefined reference to `remove_siblinginfo''
Hello,
On my x86_64 box, when compiling the xen-3.0.4-rc1, if
CONFIG_HOTPLUG_CPU is not set it produces an undefined reference to
''remove_siblinginfo'' that is used in arch/x86_64/kernel/smpboot.c
drivers/built-in.o: In function `__cpu_up'':
(.text+0x54c10): undefined reference to `remove_siblinginfo''
If CONFIG_HOTPLUG_CPU is set the compilation works fine.

[PATCH 10/10] virtio: enable endian checks for sparse builds
__CHECK_ENDIAN__ isn't on by default presumably because
it triggers too many sparse warnings for correct code.
But virtio is now clean of these warnings, and
we want to keep it this way - enable this for
sparse builds.

It seems that there should be a better way to do it,
but this works too.

/proc/xen/xenbus supports watch?
Hi,
Anybody (Christian?) could please tell me if we can get the support
for registering watch with /proc/xen/xenbus? (..OK, I know that we
will change it this /proc stuff to a device soon)
So far we can only do read/write/rm. I really miss the xen watch feature.
Many thanks,
Hieu

Starting shorewall blocks all traffic - linux 2.6
I am puzzled. I started setting up a new box last week with
Linux 2.6.10.
Everything was working fine until I went to start shorewall,
when all network traffic stopped.
I have little doubt that it is because I missed something in
configuring the machine. I''m running shorewall 2.2 and the zone,
policy, and rules files are cut and paste from a machine that
has been running for over a

Getting kernel source for 2.6.9-42.ELsmp
Hello!
I need to get an arcnet device driver up and running. Normally it
appears to be distributed with linux, but not installed. So, I need to
compile and install it, naturally.
So, where is the kernel souce for 2.6.9-42.ELsmp? I can find kernel
source for 2.6.9.
BTW, I obtained 2.6.9 and tried compiling it, but all I got was *.o
files and

[PATCH] Convert shutdown to use xenstore
The attached patch:
1. Converts the shutdown driver and xend to use the store instead of
control messages,
2. Includes Anthony''s xenstore notification code, and
3. Changes xend so that sysrq''s are no longer sent as "special case"
shutdown messages. Store keys are cheap, so making the sysrq
delivery less obscure is good.
I think I have made all of the
