Recording just first part of call?
I know that I can record the contents of a call by calling Monitor() or MixMonitor() from the dialplan just before invoking Dial(). I have a potential customer who wants only the first minute of each call recorded (for identification purposes, without the storage overhead of keeping the complete call). Can anyone here think of the easiest way to do this? The only possibilities I can think of

Systemd service unit file needs to wait until a specific interface is up
Hi all, With SystemD, how can I make certain service dependent on certain network interfaces being up? For example, I have an 802.1ad bond interface I need to wait on for being up (this interface has no ip address assigned, it is used to capture networks packets with a tcpdump?s script). Every time this service fails because bond interface is not up. I have configured the service as:

Dial to FastAGI application appears as 1-second CDR - how do I fix?
In my application, I am using AMI to run an Originate command between a channel and a dialplan application (NOT a context). In my case, the application I want to invoke is FastAGI. The Originate AMI command works correctly, but Asterisk generates a very short (0-1s) duration for the CDR that results from this call, regardless of the time spent running the FastAGI application. I want the CDR

<<< GSM AUDIOFiles >>>
Hello: I would like to produce some GSM Prompt audio files for a Telephone Directory Project-- and have hired a freelance audio engineer to record, and edit the actual files-- However the GSM files he gives me to upload into asterisk DO NOT work when played back throgh "Stream File" or "Get Data" in my agi. It seems that there may be more than one GSM file type (with

BackupExec Agent on Samba
Is there an improved BackupExec Unix agent available that works with Samba? If not, can someone tell me how to work around the lack of the archive bit that Linux has? In particular, RedHat Linux 7.2 is the system I'm looking for help on. I found the following hints in an older version of this newsletter, Samba Digest, Vol. 3, Issue 34, sent March 21, 2003, that had this in it: Yes, we have

<<< MEETME_AGI_BACKGROUND inside MEET ME>>>
Howdie: I've been reading some old threads and still have a couple of questions about applying the AGI_BACKGROUND script inside a Conference. Perhaps someone can save me a bit of fidd'lin. Am I right in assuming that the MEETME_AGI_BACKGROUND script **WILL WORK** on SIP conferenced channels **WITHOUT** an **ACTIVE** zap channel-- AS LONG AS THERE IS A DIGIUM CARD INSTALLED IN THE

RJS templates not found
I am running Rails 1.10 and wanted to check out the RJS templates. Rails doesn''t seem to find them. I did issue the rake comment update_javascripts and that did not correct the problem. RJS is part of 1.1 right? Any ideas? Thanks. -- Posted via http://www.ruby-forum.com/.

Large Corosync/Pacemaker clusters
Hi, We''re setting up fairly large Lustre 2.1.2 filesystems, each with 18 nodes and 159 resources all in one Corosync/Pacemaker cluster as suggested by our vendor. We''re getting mixed messages on how large of a Corosync/Pacemaker cluster will work well between our vendor an others. 1. Are there Lustre Corosync/Pacemaker clusters out there of this size or larger? 2.

Differences in masq from 1.4 -> 2.0?
In the panic of replacing our firewall(s) earlier in the week, we ended up moving our original shorewall 1.4 config onto a machine with 2.0.10 already installed, overwriting all the 2.0.10 config files. Most things seem to work fine, except for our masq entries. I''ve examined the default 2.0.10 files compared with our 1.4 files, and can''t spot the problem. What am I missing?

Suggested MeetMe feature: 'i' without review.
I recently setup app_meetme with the 'i' option. My boss wants users to say their name and go directly into the conference instead of reviewing the recording. If anyone else is interested in this behavior becoming an option, has a suggestion what letter to use as the option (I was thinking 'i' -- with review and 'I' -- without review), or anything else, I'd appreciate

Mobiles not detecting as BUSY until Dial() timeout completes
I'm not sure if this is an Asterisk thing, a handset thing or a telco thing, so please be gentle with me if this is not the right place to ask ..... When placing a call over a SIP channel to a mobile phone, if the phone is engaged, it does not return a BUSY status straightaway. Rather, I get a ringing-out tone for the timeout duration specified in the Dial() statement; *then* I get

statistical advice
Hello, I am a researcher in sleep and circadian rhythms who is having much trouble deciding on proper statistical analyses. Before I state my question, I provide a brief synopsis of the looming problem; I am interested in activity bout distributions across a 24 hr day. In addition to looking at the number of activity bouts across the day, I am also interested in the duration of each activity

Metric label values truncated when using OpenMetrics endpoint
Hi Jeff, Thanks for your reply! Regarding grouping by remote address, I understand and for now I'll keep a close eye. Maybe it's an option to group by /24 for ipv4 and /64 for IPv6? We currently do that based on the logs but the OpenMetrics endpoint seem a lot easier. A slight hijack of the original question: but I tried to log only IP addresses (+ result) of failed login attempts but
