Determining width and height of image files
I''m trying to figure out how to determine the width and height of images
that are uploaded through my app. Either from the posted data or the
file I save to disk. I''ve been searching around for info but no luck;
I''m completely at a loss. Any suggestions or pointers would be great.
Project background:
The site is an artists portfolio site. The images are thumbnails

Generating barcodes (as gif/jpg)
Hello Rubyists,
I need to generate barcodes (in UPC and codabar symbologies) and
would like to know if anyone has done this with Ruby. From what I can
tell, it would be possible to use the gnu-barcode [1] or
barcodewriter [2] to generate a PostScript, then through RMagick (via
GhostScript) take the file and create a GIF/JPG.
These will really only be used for web display (to be printed

"How to convert .rdata file into .csv or something else?" [SOLVED:Corrected version2]
Dear mailing list members,
Sorry for the repeated posting, but I have to add two more things.
1) I changed the .Rdata into .rdata in the subject to avoid
misunderstanding of readers.
2) To save data in csv file;
> write.csv(WV6_Data_R, "input/ch2/WV6_Data_R_v_2016_01_01.csv")

Creating multiple rows with one form
Hello. I''ve been trying this out for the past two days and I can''t seem to
get it. I''m going to have a page where you can upload x amount of images at
once. Lets say 10 images need to be uploaded, all with a caption.
I''d like to have a browse button to choose the file, then the caption. Now,
if I put 10 of them in one form, fill them all out and submit, I get

adding bmp/jpg/gif to an existing plot
Hi, all.
I searched a lot at mailing list, installed EBImage and gtk packages, but I
couldn't make this simple work:
How to add a image file (jpg or bmp ou gif) to an existing plot window (not
plot over the image), like the code below (pseudo function add.image):
plot(1:10,1:10,main="test")
image = read.X("myimage.jpg")
add.image(image, x.left=2, y.bottom=4,

[PATCH] smallft.c
Hi,
I'm re-posting this; the first post
was filtered because I wasn't a member
of the mailing list...
I have a small diff for Vorbis
which replaces some loops with memcpy.
This allows us to take advantage of
memcpy's optimisations when copying
the floating point data.
Does this look OK?

"How to convert .Rdata file into .csv or something else?" [SOLVED]
Dear mailing list members,
Thank you for all members who gave me advice.
This question is solved.
I tried to create an object using the load function by analogy based on the
read.csv function like this;
> d <- load("~/docdis/input/ch2/WV6_Data_R_v_2016_01_01.rdata")
but, load function cannot be used in this way. Correct ways are;

making scatterplot easier to read
Dear R users,
do you know an easy way (other than star plot) of making several points
laying one over another visible? Is it any simple way of increasing such
"multipoint" symbols - or shifting their positions randomly to make several
points in one place visible?
Cheers,
sz.

attribute or instance method or what?
Hi!
Uhm are attributes just something like additional members of a class,
other than those that come from the names of columns in the table?
I''ve got images table, which has ''name'' column. I''ve added support for
creating thumbnails out of uploaded pictures and i''d like to have an
easy way of accessing them in my views.
How to do it? I.e. my image

Upload a zip using a form and extract if afterwards on srv?
Hi all
It like my visitors to be able to upload a zip file (or any other
possible compressed file archive) to my server. After upload, my web app
should extract the content to the server and delete the zip file.
Is this possible somehow? I''m very thankful for help.
Have a nice weekend,
Joshua

How to restrict access to admin part of the page?
Hi!
What is the easiest way to restrict access to some part of the page?
In php i just put .htaccess and .htpasswd files in /admin folder and it
worked.
Now i''ve got one admin folder for controllers, one for views, public
folder and i''m not really sure if it''s still possible. So what is the
easiest way? I don''t have any user logging features on my site,

Export in pdf, png, jpg, eps, etc...
Dear R-users,
I have created a bunch of R scripts that automatically create multiple
plots, all saved in a pdf device. I initially chose pdf output in order
to easily access to multiple plots in a single file.
Now, I am trying to play with different devices, like png or eps and I
realize that the settings I used to have nice plots in a pdf device are
giving awful outputs with the other

Problem with ruby 1.8.4 One-Click Ruby Installer on windows
Hi!
Previously i had ruby 1.8.2 (One-Click Ruby Installer) installed, but
the rdoc and plugindoc didn''t work, so i decided to install ruby 1.8.4.
I had uninstalled ruby 1.8.2 (uninstaller deleted the whole ruby folder
with radrails and everything, just great) and installed One-Click Ruby
Installer 1.8.4-16 preview3.
Then installed rails, rmagick, radrails, created docs for trunk
