MySQL GUI for OS X
G''day everyone,
I''ve got Rails up and running, but am having trouble finding a stable
MySQL client for OSX.
I was looking at the ''Creating a weblog in 15 minutes'' screencast from
rubyonrails.org - what MySQL client is David using?
I''ve found the MySQL clients (Administrator / Query Browser) to be
highly unstable and rather pathetic under OSX.

SQL "editor"
Hello all,
I am curious about what tools you guys use to make your databases. I
know David uses CocoaMySQL. Are there other tools for other platforms
and for other databases? I''m not very good with the SQL language, so
I would like being able to do all my database setup with an
easy-to-use tool (defining tables, fields, primary keys, foreign keys,
indexes, etc.)
Big kisses,
Vincent.

CocoaMySql Equivalent Tool for Linux & Windows
In the screencast on RoR.com entitled "Creating a weblog in 15 minutes" the tool CocoaMySQL is being used to define and modify the database schema.
http://media.rubyonrails.org/video/rails_take2_with_sound.mov
http://cocoamysql.sourceforge.net/index.html
CocoaMySql runs only on OSX. Are there equivalent tools for Linux and/or Windows?
Thanks!

text_field_with_auto_complete
I am having some trouble using `text_field_with_auto_complete'' in
Firefox. For some reason, the drop-down list is being rendered
behind other table elements.
Firefox (broken): http://schema.ca/broke.png
Safari: http://schema.ca/safari_works.png
I''m wondering if anyone is aware of this problem, and what I might be
able to do to work around it?
Thanks,

Looking for AOL, MSN, Yahoo "Rails Buddies"
I''m an independent software developer that spends a fair amount of time each
day working on Rails-related project. t''d be really great to meet some
people to chat about rails, software development, or whatever else geeky
stuff via IM!
If interested, shoot me an e-mail or reply here. Personally, I''m a little
apprehensive about putting all my info out there on a list

Analog to ruby script/generate for removing generated stuff?
All,
If I do ruby script/generate model blah,
is there an easy way for me to remove all of that stuff that got
generated?
Something like:
ruby script/remove model blah?
If it doesn''t exist, is it coming?
Thanks,

Applications used in the Rails video?
Hi all,
I just watched the rail video:
http://www.rubyonrails.org/media/video/rails_take2_with_sound.mov
I am just curious. I can tell that the video was done on a Mac, but I
cannot tell which applications were used for editing the code, and for
interfacing with MySQL database.
As far as editing source code, I normally use BBEdit (I''ve used it since
1994), but the editor used in

MySql 4.1.9, passwords, Rails
After spending a lot of time today trying to get CocoaMySQL connecting
to a remote MySQL 4.1.9 server via ssh tunnel and then experiencing the
password hashing issue locally when I put in passwords on my local
Mysql server, I started wondering about Rails compatibility.
Will rails now hash passwords correctly when connecting to MySql
4.1.7+, or should I stick with using old_password() when

Wierd pagination problem - Unknown options: order?
I am trying to use pagination with the order option. I am following
examples I''ve seen all over the web, but I am getting an error. My code
seems simple:
def list
@upload_pages, @uploads = paginate :uploads, :per_page => 20, :order
=> ''id''
end
Yet I keep getting this error:

Displaying Hours
Here''s an intersting one:
I have a client who wants to store hours of operation of a business for
their RoR web app. I came up with a solution, but I really don''t like
it.
I have a MySQL table that has these fields
monday_start, monday_end, tuesday_start, tuesday_end, etc., all as time
fields.
That''s all find and dandy. The kicker is, the client wants the hours to

Samba without TCP/IP
For several reasons (security, resources, and simplicity) is there a project
underway to make Samba run without TCP/IP. The FAQ says that there
is a desire to make this project work, and that it is stalled. I for one
would like to hear from anyone working on this before I dive headlong
myself into trying to get Samba to work without TCP/IP.
