XMLRPC::DateTime from AWS
When I do an XMLRPC webservice call to retrieve a single Product, my
DateTime fields in the products table do not get converted to a valid
DateTime value, but remain as XMLRPC::DateTime structures.
So, say my webservice call is:
@product = @aws.get_product(1)
Then my @product object looks like this:
name: My product
last_updated: #<XMLRPC::DateTime:0x37c5338>
description: This is my

Question: Publishing R/S objects with WebServices (SOAP/WSDL)
Hello,
Can anyone tell me if there is a package which will allow me to write a
package in R, then publish the package using WebServices? The idea is that
I want to be able to pass a data set into R, have R perform the
calculations, then send the result back to either a .Net application or a
LIMS BASIC application.
So far I see many packages that allow R to consume WebServices, but I
haven't

Bizzare Date, DateTime, date_select issues
I''ve been banging my head against this wall for several hours, and it
hurts now so I''ll stop and ask someone.
In one of my forms I had been using a statement to extract the current
year for use with some form field calculations.
<% currentyear = DateTime.now.year %>
And then further down several date_selects like the following,
<%= date_select

Getting the datetime when using Calendar Date Select plugin in an Ajax update operation.
Hey,everyone,
I encountered a problem when getting a date through calendar date
select plugin. It''s convenient to put the very
tag(calendar_date_select_tag) in a form, then get the date when the
form is submitted, however, if I don''t put the
calendar_date_select_tag in a form, and just use it as an element
which can show a calendar on the page, now I wanna update a specific
area

Testing REST webservices? (Not Rails)
Hi,
I am new to RSpec and BDD.
I was wondering if RSpec specifications are a good solution for testing
REST webservices (not implemented in Rails).
If so, what would be a good way to test something like the API described
below?
===========
GET http://localhost/workflow text/xml
Result: 200 OK
<?xml version="1.0"?>

datetime/date problems w/ Oracle
I am "script\generate scaffold"ing w/ Oracle. The CRUD controls for DATE
columns in _form.rhtml are generated as datetime_select, rather than
date_select . This is understandable, as Oracle uses a DATETIME data type
for DATE columns. I''m also not too bothered by the fact that I have to
manually replace "datetime_select" w/ "date_select" for all

changing active record to use date or datetime instead of time
Hello,
I need to use Date or DateTime for a column instead of Time because I
have need to include dates older than 1970. I am using SQL Server for
a backend. I have been experimenting with changing the column type in
SQL Server, but active record always seems to Time regardless of what
the column type is.
Is there something I need to declare in my model?
I can''t seem to get active

Blank DateTime versus Nil DateTime
Hi!
These days I have been having trouble with a test that tried to test
DateTime functionality. I have discovered that a NULL DateTime is
auto-type casted to NIL by Rails.
My problem here is that I have a field :datetime and I want to allow
NULL datetimes but not wrong datetimes. With this validation if deadline
is wrong or if is is blank it returns true. How I can accomplish this?

ActiveRecord DateTime mapping
Hye,
I try to store DateTime as integer (seconds) in my database (MySQL).
I''d like to convert seconds to DateTime in the ActiveRecord object
to handle it easily in my views.
I try to play with callbacks or with method dedicated to my attributes for eg.
def fetched
upd = nil
v =read_attribute(:fetched)
if (v)
upd = DateTime.at(v)
else
upd = DateTime.now
end
end

mySQL 5.0 upgrade - incompatible DateTime format?
I''ve upgraded to mySQL 5.0, and it''s gone pretty smoothly except that on
DateTime.now doesn''t seem to return a value that mySQL likes any more,
as seen in the following exception:
Incorrect datetime value: ''2005-11-20T15:33:12-0800'' for column ''logged_at'' at row 1: UPDATE notes SET `due_on` = ''2005-11-20'',
