add dataset
Hi,
a simple question..
is add dataset not part of zonecfg ?
global# zonecfg -z myzone (OK)
zonecfg:myzone> add dataset (fails as there is no dataset option)
zonecfg:myzone> add zfs (fails as there is no dataset option)
Basically how do I add a dataset to a zone ?
Thanks

unionfs related patch
G'day ...
David Schultz, in his spare time, has been working through some of the
issues I've been able to 'tweak' in the unionfs code ... as he is
currently working on forward-patching it to -CURRENT right now, he can't
commit the code to the -STABLE tree ... in order to allow others using
unionfs to test the patch (I've been running it a few weeks now on a very

snapdir visable recursively throughout a dataset
Is there an existing RFE for, what I''ll wrongly call, "recursively visable snapshots"? That is, .zfs in directories other than the dataset root.
Frankly, I don''t need it available in all directories, although it''d be nice, but I do have a need for making it visiable 1 dir down from the dataset root. The problem is that while ZFS and Zones work smoothly

I can see a case for and against allowing this when considering it
purely at the feature level as users/admins see things.

Vorbis-/Speex-Audio for Movie-Archiving
Hi everyone,
I have been using vorbis for ages as audio codec for archiving movies and I
have always been happy with it, but now I have been thinking about two things:
I) Multi-channel
Up until now I mostly encoded to stereo; now I am thinking of encoding more
movies to 4.0 or 5.1. I heard that vorbis does not optimize for channels > 2,
i.e. that 6 channels is just stereo*3. AAC is

Mailbox Hashing
First off, the website documentation is really good for Dovecot but while
reading I was not able to find anything pertaining to inbox hashing for
Maildirs. I saw plenty about hashing the directories that the user mailboxes
live in but nothing about specifically hashing an individual user's inbox
directory itself.
Is there any method for hashing the inbox automatically after say 5,000

Help installing Dovecot 1.0 on Debian 6.0.7
Hi,
Could someone please let me know if I can get the pre-built binaries for
Dovecot 1.0 for Debian 6.0?
If I do "apt-get install dovecot...", I am getting Dovecot v1.2.5
installed, but it doesn't like the existing Dovecot 1.0 configuration I
have, and due to some urgency, I am trying to avoid migrating the
configuration to the new structure / requirements.

Problem with masquerading and bridges
Hello all,
I''m somewhat new to networking, and I''m having trouble masquerading
connections that are coming over a bridge. The bridge only has a
single port for now, but I''m going to add more ports later. I''m basing
my configuration on the two-interface quick start guide. I''m using
Shorewall 3.0.4 on Ubuntu Dapper.
My network looks like this:

Samba and ClearCase
We're trying to use samba to let our PC's mount view extended pathnames used
by clearcase but they show up as empty. If anyone's used samba and Clear
Case (by Pure Atria) and gotten it to work I'd love to hear how.
thanks,
Bill

Second SAMBA Server different NETBIOS alias and shares for ClearCase
I have a SAMBA Server utilizing an LDAP backend for user authentication
and it works great unless I use ClearCase. When ClearCase is used the
compilation time for our code is slowed down to a crawl and the
ClearCase application is rendered nearly useless. As a test fix my boss
wants me to create a second SAMBA server to be used for only the
ClearCase server.
I don't know if this will work,

Samba, Clearcase, and multiple credentials
This falls under the 'getting clearcase to work with samba'
category.
Does anybody know if the clearcase albd server actually uses
samba to access files (or anything else) on the unix side?
I am having 'discussions' with rational (the clearcase people).
The nt user running clearcase to access some unix-side views
connects to the unix side using a set of credentials that have

clearcase and samba
FYI:,
I'm fairly new to samba (a couple of months now), and have experimented -
unsuccessfully - with getting it
to work with clearcase. Does anyone have a how-to, or a list of gotcha's for
setting up clearcase with samba?
Thanks in advance for any information you can send me.

Apache + Displaying images
Hi,
I''m new to Rails, sorry if I''m repeating the question, but I couldn''t
find a solution for my problem so far :(
I''m using Apache2 as the web server of my Rails application. I keep my
images in public/images and tried inserting images to the page like
this;
<%= image_tag "rails.png" %>
But the image is not displayed on the browser. Can

index corruption
Hi people
Just switched to Dovecot yesterday, and I've already got about five
reports of users with duplicate mail in their inbox :-/. Not as bad
as lost email, mind you, but pretty annoying still.
Checking the server log, it says:
postfix/smtpd: disconnect from unknown

windows 2003
I have finally gotten one version of windows 2003 r2 x64 installed as a
guest.
The bad news is no network.
The network tab says it''s a realtek 8139 when I know it is a intel. I tried
downloading the intel drivers and they wont install says it''s the wrong hard
ware. Is this common that it uses a 8139 as a generic network card?
Also the network card shows
